My PPM using pure rain water is around 70, what I read online is that I need to have somewhere close to 200/400 (EC 0.4) for seedlings, 450/650 (EC 0.9) for later veg and so on. My question being how do I get these numbers? Just keep adding nutrients?

Well that's simple buddy. You need nutes. For a starter general hydroponics do a trio grow, bloom and micro. You'll need a PPM/EC pen. 2ml/l usually gives around 400 depending on nutes of course. So once you give the 400 ppm nute then say later CAL MAG at 300 or you can do a mix and tweak it to your liking. The PPM isn't a thing where you need to give all in 1 feeding once it gets that over the space of 24-48hrs. Sry didn't follow question right. This is how you can get there.

Rain water is never pure my friend.tds and ppm are measurements of amounts of nutrients that particular water can hold.If you are using a feeding chart through GPL or Advanced they work that out for you.

you can mesaure this with something called a TDS pen. To get the numbers your looking for use the ratios of nutrients from the brands your feeding with, and dilute it into the main bucket to get their. eg. 2ml grow, 1ml bloom and 3ml micro. add all this into your jug and keep adding more till it hits the range your looking for. What also works is use the ratios 2:1:3 but change the amounts. 1ml vs .5ml if you know it only requires 1/2 to get to the ppm range you desire. Note that some companies feeding schedules need some nutrients to be mixed in first then the rest. This is a great reference for feeding autos and how old they are. its not 100% and may require adjustment if your plant is huge or small. https://www.autoflower.net/forums/threads/med-man-method-feeding-chart-ppm-ec.47856/ Best Of Luck!

Whatever you are doing you are doing it right. Your plant looks spot on. So yeah. Don't worry about reaching the required amount of ppm in 1 feed, can be reached over few feeds unless your doing DWC. But soil and coco once your giving key nutes and right ppm over a space of time I said you'll be all good.

3-500ppm for 0-1wk or no nutes will work. 4-700 wk 2-4. When u start flowering 9- and can be pushed to 1400 max depending on strain some like more nutes than others auto like less nutes compared to photos. But them numbers u said will work 2. Be sure to add a micro to your list of nutes to help uptake. Happy growing, good luck.
