You can trim roots when growing bonsai with great success but it takes practice and ultimately that is not what you are going for... just let it be. At this stage, if you remove roots the plant will just put more energy into replacing them and this will slow the top vegative growth. I would be very pleased with your current development, there is a healthy root mass to draw up the essential nutrition the plants need to develop. Keep doing what you are doing and you will get a reward at the end 🙏

NOooooooooooo never... If they are photoperiod then u just transplant her into bigger container but first gently rub out the roots.. Kinda loosen them up before puting in new pot.. 2nd make sure you soak the old one( before transplant) .. And the new pot/soil then loosen root alittle then put her in her new home and water her after.. 3rd best to do it in the evening time when its cool and the soil has cooled some....good luck family👍👍👍💪💪💪😎😎

I have trimmed roots in the past and had good results, I didn't trim lots away. After the 4th week I stop trimming them and let them fill the container. Also make sure the roots that get cut off don't end up in the res. The scissors have to be sterile. I have been advised against doing it. If you think they are causing a problem cutting an inch off prob won't make a difference, don't cut the tap root if that's in amongst them.

You can trim roots, if their blocking returns, or had some root rot., but I would not remove roots for no reason... Cheers
