Hi. This is my first round of growing, and like Goku40G I went with two Bloom Plus lights, but I went with two Bloom Plus 1500s, which are dimmable 150 watt LED lights. The 1000 is really only good for veg, and doesn't really have the power that you will need for flower. A1500 is rated for a 3x3 area for veg, and 2.5x2.5 Sq Ft for flower, so I chose to use two of these LEDs for my 20"x36" space, and I think they have worked perfectly. They are water resistant, use the good Samsung diodes, have a full spectrum including far red, and each one also includes an infrared diode also, which most LEDs do not have. Currently, this light is being sold for 9, but there is currently a 20% discount, bringing it down to 0. The first one I bought was for 9, but I was able to get the second one for about 0 when I found it on sale. Below is a link for these lights. Check out my grow to see the other supplemental lights I use for my grow. I use blue and blue/red supplemental light during veg to keep internodal spacing close, and add UVA and UVB supplemental lighting during the last two or three weeks every other day for an hour or so to help produce more resin and trichomes. I hope this helps. https://www.amazon.com/Grow-BP-1500-Light-Hydroponic-Gardening/dp/B082XYLHRJ

As a new grower myself I found bloom plus’s 1000k to be great especially at a discount of about 50-75 dollars . Amazon always have a clip on cupón for 25$ off one light . I have three of them and they work great and have awesome spectrum

I prefer white LED's. Ignore the wildly inflated marketing "equivalent" numbers and go by it's actual wattage consumption. I consider 35 watts per square foot the minimum power. You can always turn the power down or raise the light higher but I like to have the ability to go to 35 watts per foot to get nice yield. I currently use Horticultural Lighting Group (HLG) lights but there are many other great lights listed under the "lights" tab on the left of this page. I use their 260 watt R spec lights. For larger grow areas I use multiple fixtures. It spreads the light out more evenly versus one higher powered light so there are fewer shadows and better light penetration to the lower leaves. HLG also provides PPFD correction numbers for their lights which makes it easy to use an app on your cell phone to measure LUX, then with the conversion factor you can get a good approximation of PPFD which makes it really easy to set the light's output power and height for each stage of growth. I also use Kind lights. I have four or five of their older models and several still are being used daily with the others coming out when I bring my tropicals inside for the winter. Over the years I had one power supply go bad and one failure in the light and their warranty support was top notch. MIGRO is a "must" to look up on YouTube. They have great reviews of most lights. Even though they are reviewing competitors lights their videos are possibly the most unbiased and honest information available on the Internet. I don't have any of their lights but I would not hesitate to give one a try.

Have a look at the light section on here, for £150 you can get a mars hydro or spider farm light.

Stay away from blurples. Get yourself a name brand quantum board. Viparspectra is top quality while Mars Hydro is best bang for your buck. MH is slightly less efficient so they give off more heat (barely measurable honestly). I've gone with MH because it would take a few years of me growing for VS to make up the cash difference in umol/$.
