Jack Herer. Buds aren’t really fattening up. Leaves are a lot and kind of pointing down over the bud reducing light getting in. Week 7 of flower. Should i cut off some of the problem leaves blocking light at this stage?

No, your plant needs every leaf it has, to produce the energy she needs to grow her biggest and best flowers. The buds are relying on those very leaves to make the energy that they need to grow. If your plant did not need those leaves, it would not have grown them in the first place! They are not problems, but essential energy and food making panels. Besides, much light, that we humans can not see, penetrates through upper leaves to strike the lower leaves anyhow, making their removal pointless. Just remember, - Maximum amount of healthy green leaves = maximum energy production = maximum growth. Hope this helps,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Organoman. (and strident anti defoliation advocate!)

Thanks Organaman and Hashy! Yea this really helps. Im flip flopping between light defoliation and no defoliation at all. Have tried both on my 4 plants currently and will come to a conclusion at the end. I agree with Organoman, and Hashy. That 1 big leaf is going!

Organoman is right but I don't see the harm in removing the odd fan leaf, example you got a big ass fan leaf blocking a lot off other growth from receiving light I would remove that one leaf. Also I try and keep the healthier leaves on. If its a choice between removing a dodgy looking leaf to a nice looking leaf I would pluck the dodgy one. Not everyone agrees with defoliation but I think done correctly and only lightly can help.
