I'm starting to see my upper leaves turning a bit yellow in spots. I think I may be over watering. I've added 1 gallon water to 3 gallon pot leaves looked to droop a bit.

I donā€™t see it in your pictures if itā€™s spots on your leaves it can be a few things. You are already supplementing with cal-mag so it shouldnā€™t be any minerals deficiencies and it could be that your soil is too damp. Id need more info to give you a better answer.

@Jrlea11 Hi mate yes overwatered and the roots are suffocating Can you get hold of some hydrogen peroxide by chance? use 1ml in a litre of water in your next 2 waterings and it will help add extra O2 to your roots Hope this helps mate

I agree this looks like over watering. See the bottom leaves on some of the edges that have turned tan Color? Thatā€™s a sign of root rot so to much water. Iā€™ve seen this lots while cloning

Seems like roots don't get aerated. Let the soil dry and start lifting your pots and check their weight before watering that way you always now when to water when you check weight of your pots. Also good idea is to but like an inch of clay pebbles on the bottom of your soil to make little "secret ditch" there make's good run off and your roots don't get drenched. Do this next time growing šŸ˜‰ Happy growing promising start!

Hi @Jrlea11! My guess is that you flooded the roots with water. Overwatering is a common mistake with small plants in big containers. As a result, plant cannot drink all of the water and roots are suffocating, they canā€™t get oxygen anymore. Roots need to be on a wet/dry cycle to properly spread, searching for water. Each cycle should be pretty quick (24~36h) so you should always water with 15-20% of the containerā€™s capacity. Never water with more than 25% of you containerā€™s volume. Hope this will help, keep us up-to-date and happy growing šŸ‘Š

A certain volume of soil usually holds 25% to 33% of its volume in water, so 3 gallon of soil (or coco in this case) easily holds 1 gallon of water. But since the pot is too big for the stage your seedling is in, it is too much water. At this point 1 cup of water is more than enough to last several days. Let the media dry a bit, it might take a couple of weeks.
