Plants turn herme after defoliation? It’s a sad day in the grow room today I have 2 Hermès that grew a couple seeds on each one and then I have 1 plant that just went crazy with seeds all over
Yes, heavy defoliation causes a huge metabolic shock to your plants, freaking them out and making them "think" that they are going to die, leading to their survival instinct kicking in - hermaphroditism.
Only do a flowering defoliation in week 2 or 3. Never do it any later unless your getting the plant ready for harvest.
I do my last defoliation in 2 week 2 or 3 of flowering, I've never had any problems and get good benefits from indoor plants. Anything past that time frame is just to much stress on the plants. I'm really sorry that happened to you.
