Does adding and reducing PH change colors of the bud? When would I start manipulating the PH? I’ve read week 6 is when I should start reducing the PH to achieve reds yellows and oranges…

Total BS as far as cannabis is concerned, so is adding ice. Colour change is usually a genetic thing, generally induced by having night temps 10-15 degrees Celsius lower than the day time temps, although there are a number of purple strains, mostly Pakistani Indica in descent. Cheers, Organoman.

Reducing air temperature to 65F at night will bring color out. Putting ice on the top of soil/coco for the last week will bring color out. Adding ice directly to the DWC/ HYDROPONICS reservoir will bring color out. If you have a strain WITH Genetics that have coloring. Some strains will only give you a normal, green buds, yellow leaves , and red hairs.

While I’ve heard that PH of the soil can change the color of certain types of flowers- say hydrangeas- I’ve never heard of that being true with cannabis. The colors tend to be strain and phenotype specific. And lower temperature at lights off can sometimes deepen the colors achieved during the plants fade. ( I kinda wish it was true- It would make for some killer photos ) 🌱

Cold weather induces a fade or color change.
