Can I still use the buds on my hermied plant to make edibles instead of tossing it away? (2-3 weeks into flower)

Hi! One of my plants hermied about 2-3 weeks into flower, could the buds still be used to make edibles or won't it have any effect?

You can use all of plant for edibles. Even if it was a male. There is Terps in stems. I had this happen with a male plant. I cut it dried it. Then processed stems into butter.

I feel like an idiot, but what does it mean when a plant "hermies"?

You can. It won't make nearly as much thc as a full female, but you can extract it and make hash or edibles. If you have other plants anywhere nearby though, even just one, its best to bag and kill the hermie.

Technically you can but I would not when a plant hermies it's going to focus more on seeds then making then bud or thc production. I would get a bag over that plant and get it out of my garden so it doesn't pollinate the next plant

Keep it for sure (unless my last comment below applies to you). Pinch off pollen sacks unless you want it to seed. It should be fine. Worst case it has some seeds you need to pick out. If the plant pollinated itself and is indeed originally female, you will get femenized seeds. And like the other comment said, bubble hash is also an option. My next grow I am deliberately causing my plant to hermie (treating with colloidal silver) because I want seeds so I can grow a strain again in the future with the same genetics. It might not be full strength weed or yield as much THC because some energy goes into seed production. But it will still be good. Too good to throw away. Your biggest concern should be the other plants. If you don't want them to seed you should move this one into another tent. That might be one good reason to toss it, if you don't want others to seed. But you could also cross two strains if you have other strains in the mix.

I'd personally use the plant for bubble hash but that's me. Save as many trichomes as possible! šŸ¤˜šŸ˜¤

yeah of course :) I only grow 4-5 plants max. at a time and I harvest 6-7 plants a year.As a hobby grower,I never tossed away a plant, except some males. It was necessary to remove them. But hermies,I harvested many and smoked them and they were fantastic. Also,I made edibles of them and they were fantastic too.If you have another pot of the same strain growing, you can think about removing this one but if this is your only plant, keep growing it. it'll pollinate other plants and you'll have seeds without a doubt but end products will still feel and taste good.unless it is a commercial grow or any kind of professional operation, there is not a big need to get rid of them.you can still harvest buds with tons of seeds in it and do whatever you want with them.
