Preparing foxfarm soil for potting?

I’ve been running a few runs with ocean Forrest happy frog blend and my soil seems to start running low PH a after a couple weeks (water PH is in 6.5 range). I was told I should be lightly flushing my soil prior to planting to prevent PH and nutrient lock up. Any opinions??

Wait—- are you saying wash out the soil before you plant anything? I would not advise. Happy frog and ocean forest have been known to run hot—however, I wouldn’t worry about a nutrient lock out if you are feeding with a run off. So the soil slurry is the lower ph? How much lower—- that’s more of an indication of over feeding. Check out the jungle boys/Athena pod casts—- talks all about this. Lower the feed—calibrate your pen, and water with a run off. Also—- introduce a salt washing enzyme once a week to help with this—- huge fan of slf-100. Feed once a week. Never any lock out

I have always watered to 10-20% runoff with all mediums i have used with no problems. It will also notify you if you have any drainage issues. Best of luck on your grows.

I dont do soil very often anymore, but I seem to remember on the back of ocean forest's bag it said to completely saturate the soil after planting. Thats what I always did til there was some run off. When you water once the plant is established, you should every so often water til run off to flush built up nutrients out.
