Intense light can cause spirals to form, but usually temperature is primary culprit. Buds shape themselves to be pointy at top, and more so if they are kept in vertical position vs. just flopping over. It'll be a more symmetrical shape in general. The closeup pic might have 1 sprial? hard to see depth for certain in a picture.
If heat is okay, i'd chalk it up to genetics. If an environmental variable is off, try your best to ameloriate it. HID lighting, so, probably heat. if you are well over 50w/sq ft of coverage, raising it slightly may help reduce heat at canopy, but if the foxtailing is minor i'd still err on more than less, here.
