Also the strains that don't amber will be pure sativa style strains.... There's no reason a gorilla glue shouldn't have amber trichomes

As I keep telling people, (and here is the proof!) some strains just don't develop amber trichomes, which is a genetic thing, so waiting too long for amber can result in harvesting over ripe and degraded plants. If you have roughly 95% brown pistils, the plants will be in the ball park for peak THC levels and a mind bending head high. If you prefer sleepy couch lock buds, wait until 98-100% brown pistils, the trichomes will have more CBD and CBN and less THC, producing a more narcotic/stupefying effect rather than a mind trip of earlier harvested flowers. Ezzjay is correct here. Some strains will not amber and if you have no amber in your older leaves by now, chances are, this pheno won't amber.

Some strains apparently never will amber out.. it looks right around peak ripeness / potency right now and probably the next couple days.. I’d harvest anytime in the next week personally That’s just the SD tho.. GG needs weeks more - which is the issue with autos.. anyhow I’d chop SD2 within a few days unless you want a heavy couch lock then wait til you see plenty of amber. SD1 looks like it could use a few more days but should come down in a week or so

If you are all cloudy in trichomes then the amber ones will start to show in the next week. Keep at it and if its looking really hungry give it a 1/4 to 1/8th feed if you think its needing it. Might have flushed a bit to early but that's ok it can be remedied. I myself like a lower percentage of amber in my bud. Best of Luck and Happy Growing!
