Should I Scrog? Confused!

My garden seems healthy despite me. Guys I'm confused as to what I should do. Plans are to ScrOG at 18" (which I have never done) with a screen that is 3' x 4'. This screen would cover the entire container area plus about 4" over around the edges. Should ScrOG or just let grow?

That's going to be your own personal call. SCROG will if done correctly create a even canopy with lots of mini colas and they should all ripen and finish at the same time. If the screen is to big for the grow space just pin the extra bits to its self and tie it up nice and tight. I'd start to top the plant a bit to get more sites to spread across the screen. Best Of Luck

Ya if you want support I’d just run tomato trusses or plant stakes then you can move them individually

@Wyregrasser Hi mate bit of confusion here I think as dropping a net over already half grown plants is NOT a scrog a real screen of green grow requires the grower to train the plant to create lots of tops then as those tops grow they are tucked through the holes in the net . Thus creating an even canopy of just cola's here is an explanation https://www.growweedeasy.com/scrog-tutorial In your case I do not see any benefits of a net as it will stop you from being able to physically monitor each plant what I would do is trim all of the very lowest leaves off the bottom of each plant and let them grow and bloom as is 👍

SCROG is a good technique however I don't like it in a tent with soil and multiple plants. The net means can't remove or move plants so access is more difficult. This can lead to simple pest, disease or nutrient problems going unnoticed much than if you can take your plants out for close inspection. Instead I do low stress training. You get a very similar result to SCROG but instead of using a net you tie the branches down to the rim of the pot. Since you are hydro removing your plants is more difficult already so it's not as big a difference. Still I prefer LST since you can pull branches apart to inspect from above. But this is totally my preference and both methods yield very similar results.
