Too late to trim leaves leaves on auto?

I’ve heard it can be bad for the plant to trim leaves on an autoflower. I’m about half way into week 11, plant looks healthy and buds are nice but I have a bunch of leaves under the main canopy not getting much light. Is it ok to remove them?

Just remember - Maximum amount of healthy green leaves = maximum amount of energy produced = maximum growth/results. Besides, why remove them, they are not doing any harm and if the plant did not need them, she would not have grown them in the first place! The plant knows best how to get maximum results, it is only stupid interferring man that thinks he knows better! Try and only ever remove yellow leaves, for by the time they are yellow, they have done their job. This holds true for both autos and photoperiod plants. Also, the older leaves provide a rich source of "pre-made" vital growth elements that the plant will draw upon during flowering, this is (partly) why the leaves go yellow during flowering. It is more efficient for the plant to re-use the pre made sugars, carbs, amino acids etc from its older leaves, than it is to manufacture these growth elements from new while also growing the flowers. So, not only does leaf removal reduce a plants capacity to produce energy, it also robs her of this vital resource of pre made growth elements she desperately requires during flowering. Basically, leaf removal = smaller buds! Further, removing healthy green leaves and forcing the plant to grow new healthy green leaves seems stupid and inefficient to me, and no doubt, the plant thinks so the same thing too! Then again, I am a very "anti-defoliation" person and believe that the plant knows best, so why interfere too much? I do however believe in a small amount of well considered "lollipopping", just to reduce the amount of insignifigant inner growths. Hope this helps, Organoman.

Only remove any if you got areas that are not getting air flow to prevent mold or any thing that looks sick or the plant will tell you when she is done with the leave

This late id leave em.. the buds you expose to the light wont get any bigger this late.. you only have 1-2 weeks left and it might fatten up the lower buds a bit more but they wont grow bigger just a touch denser aka fatter. If you want to see if it would make much diff, when you harvest it- chop the top 2/3rds of the plant and just leave the lower 1/3 with the lower buds going for another week and see what they do. If they fatten up enough to be worth it then its worth playing around with some leaf trimming next grow to see if you can get the lower AND top buds to fatten up at the same time. If your not far off harvest.. like less than a week then yeah start taking off leaves now to save on trimming later.

removing a few leaves won't cause any nanners... and if nearly finished, even if it did, they wouldn't grow in time. it's probably not going to make much difference in bud development if nearing end, either... light hitting the buds themselves isn't the goal, but the leaves.. so if you want more penetration to lower leaves, make sure that's what is happening. Technically anything that is green on the plant can likely photosynthesize a bit, but some parts are much better at said function thse are the bits you should focus on. more light hitting lower leaves will imrove the buds nearby... but this must be happening from the start of development or at least early on in that development to get the full benefit. So, i'd only remove stuff if it is congested or growing WPM etc... can't have too many weeks left? but can't quite see well enough from the picture to be certain. heck, it is inconsequential.. remove it and see what it causes down below... see for yourself :P it won't be a significant cost that you can notice, if i am right.. so, no big deal.

Cut them or leave them. You look like your pretty close to getting finished on plant. Should not make any difference at the point you at.

I have done it remove a few at a time not to stress her to much and try to tuck the leaves out of the way rather than cutting them of good luck
