I would also imagine they are gathering everyone they want to participate and then mailing it all out at once. best way to give everyone an even start time.

I would image once you get your grow pack and start your diary you hit "join now" and then it will add you to the contest list. Lol. There's no 1. It has a lot of days. And ppl aren't probably added until they get the seeds or verify there using there seeds.
