Fan speed question

When my fan comes on to cool down the tent should I set the fan to low speed and let it gradually vent? Or is it better to let it rip and vent the tent quickly?

I use an automatic inline fan and when the temps/RH get to high it turns on to medium speed. 1-10 speed settings. It also has an alarm setting should the temps get above that and then turns on MAX. I also have some fans in the tent that do not vent air but circulate it. normally when they come on the inline will also come on giving the plants a nice mix. If you fan is a turn dial type with no automatic controls, try and find a sweet spot that creates the ideal temps in your tent. Then worry about the RH after. can add in a humidifier into or outside of the tent. You could also get something called an inkbird that monitors temps and RH then turns on the fan. thus turning a non automatic fan into an automatic one. Best Of Luck!

For me, with great success. I close all Windows turn the the power down to half and your rent will expand with the cold air coming in but has made for a high rich 02 and plants love it. I don't even use a fan to blow onto the plants, yet, there's been no need. Just air blowing in from top left small fan blow air up from left bottom making air circulation that's perfect. No need to vent the cold air will actually push out old air better the more resistance it has, well it has for me.. Happy growing

don't worry about ramping power up... you want enough to maintain temp or RH... adjust until that happens within reason... let it go... a fan can only do so much for heat if the ambient environment is also hot. still need air exchange for other reasons. fan should run overnight too, just in case you have it turned off during that time. unless you are providing co2 in a controlled environment, fan should be on all the time. in that case you are taking care of relative factors inside a closed system.

Keep it nice and steady, as long as your temps are at the levels you are after theres no need to have the fan making noise that may be an issue if your in a built up spot

I personally make sure the fan speed isn't too high / too fast. In conjunction with other small fans in the tent, a nice constant airflow that generates negative pressure is great. Helps reduce pests, mold, hot spots, and of course stale air. A nice steady flow of fresh air into your grow area is preferred if you can manage it.
