What to do before harvest?

I've been planning to chop my girl in 2 days (sunday), been flushing since 1.04 and watered yesterday (thursday) for last time. Would it be beneficial if I moved the harvest 2 days later, (for total 5 days without water + 48 hrs in dark) would that make considerable difference?

Don't do the darkness thing, it is BS. A plant in extended darkness will have an almost stopped metabolism, meaning there will not be enough metabolic activity to prevent THC breaking down. The whole myth is rubbish, it is not repeatable, does not work on every strain and was ONE flawed experiment that due to the magic of the internet turned into ghetto science and a supposed "fact", which it clearly isn't. 2 days without water is plenty, and this is another myth, it is botanically impossible to super boost THC levels by witholding water. THC levels are controlled by genetics and genetics only. There is no way to get a plant to produce more THC than its genetic map will allow. Through experiments that I have done over the last 35+ years, I believe the best time to harvest is an hour or two after sun up/lights on and with everything else being absolutely normal, no stress, no darkness, no extended thirstiness, nothing. This seems to produce the tastiest buds and with the highest amount of terpenes too. You want the plant to be as happy and as normal as possible, then whamo - chop it down before it knows what is going on. Why anybody would purposefully stress their plants with strange "techniques" after months of careful growing and right before harvest, is beyond my comprehension! Hope this helps, Organoman.

@NobodysBuds, thx for detailed answer, I am pretty sceptical about those methods as well, as there's a lot of articles online, but none provide any scientific, or experimental data, what I've read is that the plant produces more resins, when it "knows" it's gonna die😕 As for the flushing, I was reading about experiment, that pretty much concluded, that there's practically no difference in THC, terpenes and other contents of a plant, so in the end the biggest benefit is saving few bucks worth of nutes, and that's enough for me😎 Anyway, guess I'll go with my initial plan - my girl's going down tommorow😈

i've heard of studies using proper equipment that says it can increased % THC... however, how much is lost in meantime? if a plant has less than 20dli give or take per day it contracts. it will not gain mass.. it will lose mass. The lack of increased evaporation is the whole idea behind it. initial studies are dangerous. most are later proven wrong -- upwards of 90 %. this wasn't even a scientific study, but likely employed some basics of the scientific method. you don't have that type of lab equipment without the degrees to make use of the data they give. without water? why? a plant will hold roughly the same amount of water at any one time. Maybe a bit less in dark? since it droops? but give or take.. temps and rh control flow from roots to transpiration in leaves... it may speed up or slow down, but the plants holds roughly the same amount as long as water is available in substrate. Secondly, you may not want to hasten a drying period that could already be short -- how is your environment? if dry and warm, you don't want to do this, for sure. it's not going to provide much benefit, so stick to keeping plant healthy over starving it of water. i'd rethink the whole flush thing as all the reasons previously given as to why it is a mush has pretty much been debunked by good science. doesn't reduce minerals, doesn't improve taste, just doesn't... do shit. it's some anecdotal nonsense that was never proven, possibly like the darkness thing.. i have tried the darkness thing.. the plants sure do look frostier, lol. i've never done 48 hours, though. i typically just turn off timers the night before harvest. that way the plant isn't producing sugars through photosynthesis and if the darkness allows a few more triches to develop, so be it. several plants with different bloom times and i don't bother at all.. jsut pull them out as the time comes.. small potatoes either way. 1 day out of 8+ weeks is not going to make or break a harvest.

Boa noite.
