Leaf density, defoliation, nutes, genetics, just healthy?

My plants are very leafy compared to most I see. how can I expect bud production to unfold? Currently I move clusters away from each other. I twist off a leaf or two here and there to allow for light penetration. Is this my genetics? nutrient set? just really healthy?

Plants look great, I would suggest "lollipopping" the under storey but leaving as many healthy green leaves as possible up top, these will make the energy your plant requires to grow her biggest and best buds. Just remember - Maximum amount of healthy green leaves = maximum energy production = maximum growth! A lot of people defoliate excessively/unnecessarily without really understanding what they are doing, thinking less leaves means more energy for bud growth, but with less leaves, there will be less energy production, so there can be no "extra" energy going into bud growth! Personally, I only ever remove yellow leaves. Besides, if your plant would not NEED those leaves, it would not grow them in the first place! Hope this helps, Organoman.

Your plant looks fine. I hardly ever defoliate. My og kush diary and my goldleaf diary has enormous amounts of leaves. I've defoliated only what I absolutely need to. When leaves turn yellow, that is the time to remove them.

Btw my light is being moved here and there and the younger plants are catching up to the older ones in this photo. I am aware it looks like I'm just giving light to one set of the plant and I'm also not running on blue light. this was just for the photo.
