What's going on here? Lol The white root looking part was completely separate from the seedling, can anyone shed some light on this?

It's possible for a seed to pop 2 seedlings. In this case, to me it seems like one of them pushed out of the soil sooner and yanked the other out of the hole. They were probably both still wearing the helmet when it happened (seed shell)

Lol that is really strange indeed. Well if you seedling has roots beside that one, you will be fine but it will sure cost you some time thought, which autoflowers don't have much off.

It was completely separate from the seedling and was just resting on the surface. It was removed with zero resistance and the seedling is already well anchored

That is your taproot, the first root that comes from your seedling. What do you mean by separate? Is it completely loose from your seedling? if so, start a new grow. if not, try to put some dirt on it carefully and you will be fine. This occurred because you might putted the seed in the dirt sideways instead of the root downwards. or with feeding water the seed went sideways. Goodluck growing :)
