I have had that as well. It happens with any "live" potting soil that is moist. It is a good sign and does no harm. Go ahead and use the soil.

That's a fungus breaking down the soil into useable nuturents for plants.

Non-oscillating fan in small grow box: good enough for now?Hey growers! 🌱 I’ve got a 9-speed USB fan (quite strong but not oscillating). For now I point it at the wall so the airflow bounces back on the seedling. Any better way to position it in the box until I upgrade to an oscillating fan later? 🤔

Tiny tent = Tiny totesIs it true if you keep your roots small the plant will stay small? I have 2 small totes that hold 6 quarts each in a 18"×18"×48" tent. Each will have one plant. Size 14"×8"×5". Grow Tent/Room setup in the basement - dehumidifier or humidifier needed?I’m planning a small grow setup in my basement and have a room that’s holding a steady 17–18 °C (62–64 °F) with about 55–58% relative humidity. My plan is to vent the exhaust from the grow box straight outside through an existing duct. Will I need a de- or humidifier?
