If you've got a large grow going, this one probably wouldn't make the cut - but, for me, each seedling is important and one I want to help grow... I had three seedlings just like this one and they ALL made it. When you water (and DON'T water too much or you'll drown the poor thing!) just use a spray bottle rather than dump water on it... and try to spray ONLY the soil around it. What I ended up doing for mine was to gently put a small stake in the soil and LOOSELY tie it with some soft material to the stake... you can also use something like orchid clips as they allow the stem to simiply be encased and not pinched. You can also try pushing just a little bit of the soil up higher around the stem - BUT NOT MUCH... You should also be adding a bit of root feed - something to help the roots get bigger and stronger which, in turn, will help the plant. It will take a bit of time and patience and careful cultivation - but you CAN do it! Good luck!

To much water/humidity caused a fungus to infect the stem and kill her. "Damping Off" . It usually stats with a small black or white dot on the stem. Then the stem below that shrivels to nothing. Looks like you were doing the correct thing and watering around the stem being sure to keep the stem dry. Another thing that helps is once you put the seed in the ground sprinkle cinnamon in the area. Its a natural fungicide. chances of survival are slim. you might have a chance by taking a syringe and using 3ml of hydrogen peroxice 3% with 3ml of water and putting drops on and around the stem. Then use dirt to create a hill to support her.

I call it "failure to thrive". Basically, the sprout just fizzles out. Often I think it is due to too much water but not every seed germinates and not every sprout survives. I would take a look at your soil and if you think you've been over watering you can let it dry out and see if the plant recovers. A humidity dome may help the plant make it through this tough time. But, be ready to start another seed.

Not all seedlings make it and this is one of them. Babying such a weak seedling through to maturity usually results in disappointment as they have weak genetics to begin with, which translates to weak flowering in my experience. Seedling like this one get culled without regret by me and quickly, I don't have the need or patience to grow "maybes".

If she’s just sprouting and the leaves stuck together give her a day or two she’ll stand straight
