Soil would be the way to go. As for the results. With soil it'll allow you to use some soil conditioners. And build up mycelium and other stuff like that. As with coco, this you can't do. Better taste and so on. Coco you have to stay on top from the beginning and is less forgiving. But Is easier and quicker to fix a mistake. So both have there pros & cons. Me, personally. I work, I like i have a life and have days at a time I can't be at home. So, if you feel you can't be there 2 water coco at least 2-3 times a day. And forever adjusting and making up dif nutrient batches or whatever go for it. If you are new to growing indoors. I'd go with soil. Until you get your bearings, the kiss method will suit you better. (Keep it simple stupid) works for me, as I'm very stupid 🤣. But, I did run coco 1st and pult 150g of it nearly. As a beginner, that was nice. If its potency you are after though.. DWC will be your way to go. But, both coco & soil, done right gives similar results, it all depends what you grow, autos r fems. Good luck.

I just did two in coco, now trying soil. It's harder to maintain pH in Coco and soil is buffering. I thought Coco was supposed to attract less pests, but I still had to deal with gnats for most of the grow. I like the idea of topfeeding, so I switched to soil to give that a go because it would be p meaningless for me to be topdressing coco (an inert media) with worm castings and stuff... That said, I like Coco for the reasons mentioned elsewhere. Better for the root system, good drainage so I didn't have to worry so much about overwatering, and flushing was easier. Plants got biiiig. But they were also more sensitive to the feeds, and I am still learning. I will come back to coco for sureeee

For my money (and effort and time and pocketbook), I am now an ardent and dedicated DWC grower... I will never grow in soil again (and I've never grown in coco because if coco is simply hydoponics in soil, why bother with the "soil" part of it?!) With DWC, you can instantly see if a problem has developed - and instantly correct it... and the yields are magnificent. Good luck!

Soil is less maintaining. Easier, less growth, less nutrients, smaller plants, smaller yields, better taste. Coco is more maintaining. More nutrients, huge plants, huge yields, more potent. In a nutshell. Note coco is not to be treated like soil. It needs cal mag, always wet. Right ph 👈extremely important. Heavy irrigation. You can not over water in coco unless you leave plant sit in run off. I am a experienced coco grower.
