Any quality organic potting soil can work. Don’t get soil with time-released nutrients (like Miracle-Gro soil) and don’t use dirt you find outside. If you’re looking for a specific brand for growing cannabis, a lot of people like Fox Farm soil. If that’s what you choose, you might consider starting with Fox Farms Happy Frog soil mixed with about 20% perlite for a great cannabis soil starting mix. Some growers prefer to use "living" soil, so they don't have to add any extra nutrients in the water.

Heya! You want to make sure your soil doesn't have time released nutrients in it and has good aeration. A lot of people on here like using Fox Farms Happy Frog soil, I personally used to use a peat moss mix with perlite. I liked this because I knew exactly what was going in the soil nutrient wise and can be treated like coco with less waterings. Cheers,
