The top reasons I defoliate are: 1) To allow better light penetration to lower parts. I specifically train or remove leaves that completely overshadow bud sites, lower colas, etc. 2) To prevent one plant from overshadowing another in a tight grow space. 3) To allow for more extreme LST where leaves or leaf stalks physically obstruct my training. 4) To improve the airflow both through (ducts) and around (circulation fan) the tent (especially to help "wind" pass through plants to the whole area. P.S. I do not have expensive high-end LED lighting, I am an old-school guy using old-school techniques with old-school equipment. My diaries will be the judge in the end. :)

I'd leave her be for now. I only defoliate a little to open up some bud sites when the plant needs it. I've noticed some strains if you defoliate early tend to bush out on you.

I defoliate periodically in veg, whenever I think a leaf is in the way., but I do heavy LST training too. I have had great responses from my plants to defoliation - check out Karen and especially Nesia for good examples in my diaries. Do not defoliate "just because" that is pointless. Instead only try to defoliate where there is a good reason to do so. Defoliation strategy and techniques have been proven to increase yields and alter timings, the more you read, research, and practice, the more you will come to value this highly useful horticultural practice.

Why?-----nowadays its no need to do " defoiliation" this is a old school technic you needed, when your lights were weak nowadays no need to with the powerful quantum led and especially in automatics, you dont do to much.. every leave you take away she tries to replicate leaves are the motor of aplant, they are pumping the juice into all parts of the plant.... so less is more greetings

Why defoliate "just because"?? Remember......... less leaves = less energy being made = less growth. Yes, it really is that simple!
