I've never seen two shoots develop from one side of a node before. Assuming this is a good surprise - another COLA - but I'm curious to learn how common this is. Any insight?

It’s a polyploid or possibly fasciated. If that stem seems much thicker and or wider than others it’s fasciation. Honestly not a fan of this, gets weird in flower usually

As far as how common.. in my experience and others I’d put it at 2-5% Some lines just carry the predisposition to do it. My blueberry has this issue and it pops up 20-40% of the time I’d guess

Wow. I've had ones happen to me lower down. 3 nodes on 1 set. But as this is high up. Lightly if you can when they both grow a simple spacer between the lower part of the stems.. near the base. Will push them apart allowing to grow them and they naturally push themselves apart.. Good luck
