Currently curing and it smells good in the jar but when taking a bud out and smoking it taste and smells planty. Got humidity pack 55% and 1st week of curing, hottest temps hit round 24 deg but quickly brought back down. Will the taste stick to the buds after a while?

some stuff tastes good almost immediately, some need a little more time. As long as they aren't overly moist in a sealed container, it'll turn out fine... the humidity pack needs to be able to keep up with any water vapor released by the buds and maintain 55% consistently -- if that's the case, all is well. (a few percent off is no problem, of course.. 55-62% is a good range to stick to.) burp them daily until equillibrium is formed, then can burp less often. Think of it like a humidor. usually by 3-4 weeks it should at least taste very close to whatever it will be when the process is complete. Some can still keep improving, too. high temps will cause some faster loss of terps, light will reduce potency... these things are true but 1 day of occurrence is not going to cause significant damage of any kind (common sense applied.. cna't leave it on a black rock out in 110F weather, for example lol)... and if you smoke it within 3-6months is probably no issue at all that a human can discern the difference as far as potency and strength of flavor. This sort of concern is more important for longer-term storage needs... it'll ma a big different 12-18 months from now... only with time.
