autoflowers are volatile in size, so they aren't great for scrog, but a scrog can still help. if you can properly shift them around relative to expected size, then you avoid most of the issues. any strai is suited for a scrog. Some simply don't need it. If it's going to be a tiny little bush with strong branches, then it doesn't need a scrog for support, but it can make training it easier. as it grows you are spreading the plant out with the net. No different than any other training as far as the cause and effect of what is going on. with autos, it'll be mostly for that early training, because a plant with a short vege period isn't going to grow too tall too often. Scrogs are helpful to organizing canopy which can receive light more evenly etc etc.. it provides benefis to just about any grow. i'd suggest one of the more robust stretchy nets that you can buy vs the cheap 5 usd trellis net. holy fuck are those annoying to untangle and work with in general. LOL. brand name shouldn't matter with these. it's just stretchy nylon rope. The ones with he frames are more expensive. if you have old tent poles, can use those for support on the side. heck buy some aluminum and drill a few holes in it - save 20-30 usd over paying an extra 30-40 for the frame. (10 usd for a couple aluminum angles or similar) lots of options for edge support that are better than paying 50-60 for cheap ass tent poles.
