Optimal Light Distance

My plants are experiencing some heat stress and my light is currently at 28 inches distance and thinking to lower it but it could hurt more the plants since I just did some LST and topping. Is it okay to lower it down to like 25 inches? What is the best height distance? TY! :)

Your light is not 1000W, It looks to be something along the lines of a SF1000 and that is a 100W led light growdiaries.com/diaries/177406-grow-journal-by-cyborg420/week/995373 You can move it down to 25" and it will be ok. even at 100%. If you want you can update your diary with your lights model. Or make note of it in the diary its self. But I am 100% certain that light is not pulling 1000W from the wall. One thing to note when growing autos. Its best not to do anything that is high stress, This includes topping or transplanting or over/under watering or feeding to much/strong concentrations. all these things can negatively affect the root zone and cause the auto flower to go into early flower, putting a huge dint into your overhead for yield vs time invested. Good Luck!

First of all your light is very strong. I hope you're not using it at 100% power (if possible). With regards to light distance I prefer to position my light with regards to PPFD and DLI. I use a mobile app to check these called Photone. PPFD and DLI changes depending on which stage of your grow you're at With regards to your plant I would aim to keep my PPFD at around 600 and make sure to keep you DLI way under 40. Don't get me wrong distance is also a factor because unfortunately lights don't just emit light, but heat as well. As long as you're 25 inches from your plant (with a light that powerful) you should be fine but every case is a bit different so adjust accoeding to your room temperatures as well. Good luck with the rest of your grow. I hope you found this helpful

A 1000w LED lightning at 28 inches is already a bit too close
