Everyone has a opinion, even the manufacturer has recommendations but there just that, a recommendation. The only way to truly know is to calculate your DLI. Or daily light intake. To do this buy something like a pulse meter. If you can't afford hundreds of dollars. Do as I did and download LUX. It's a app which will give you a lumen count using your phone light sensitivity sensor. The new phones are really accurate now days. Use that and Google a DLI conversion. It will tell you how much DLI you have. Then Google a DLI chart for each stage of growth. 40DLI would be good for this stage. Move light up and down until the lux app gives you a number that will convert to a good DLI in a conversion. Sorry for the Ramblin but it's the ONLY way to truly know where to put your light. Some 'like me run 80-90% and leave light at top of tent from day 1. The babies are at bottom and don't get overpowered but as they grow they get more light. But to dial it in, do I as said. Find a DLI chart, then a DLI conversion then download LUX and dial it in! Please consider selecting me as the answer so I'm eligible for a chance to win grower of the month contest! I would truly truly appreciate it growmie. Good luck!

For a Mars Hydro TS3000 in a grow tent with dimensions of 120x120x200 cm, the ideal hanging height depends on the growth stage of your plants: Seedling Stage: Hang the light higher, around 30-36 inches (76-91 cm) above the plants. Vegetative Stage: Lower the light to 24-30 inches (61-76 cm) above the canopy. Flowering Stage: In the flowering stage, you can bring the light closer, around 18-24 inches (46-61 cm) above the canopy. As for the dimmer setting, it's advisable to start with a lower intensity and gradually increase it as the plants grow. During the seedling stage, you might want to keep the dimmer lower to avoid stressing the young plants. In the vegetative and flowering stages, you can increase the intensity based on the specific needs and responses of your plants. Monitor your plants closely for any signs of stress, such as leaf discoloration or curling, and adjust the dimmer accordingly.

Hi! With LED you can go very low, 30cm sounds great to me. You should go as low as you can to maximize the efficiency of your lights. But with Quantum Board style fixture, you need be careful with the heat retention directly under, as heat can't pass through and evacuates from the sides. Keep an eye to the tips of the leaves, if it burns, dim down.
