I would wait to see growth of the plants. Some explode some dont.. as others mentioned lst works. Without taking a chance on stunting your plants.
Although it's not recommend yes it can be done and node 4 or 5 is ideal, BEFORE the pre flower stretch.
This ensures the new colas can grow and allows multiple tops to become true tops and not side colas. Then when stretch hits they will all grow. Resulting in larger yields.
Check out my Mango smile. I got 7oz off my plant and only did lst. She did me wonderfully.

Sounds good...but every pheno grows differently so you may want to wait longer for some but thats around the time when your plant has enough nodes and is strong enough in order to handle the stress. Good luck and happy growing

They’re autos.. totally can be done.. but as a first grow - I’d wait until you get to that point to decide. If you have vigorous growth than you probably will be fine topping. If it’s slow, I’d let it ride as is.
Getting to 5 nodes at 3 weeks isn’t a given.
Especially with the variation in ruderalis derived genetics, you’re going to have significant variation between all your plants.
That said - If you’re at 5 nodes by day 21 .. then you’re safe to top in my opinion.
Play it day by day.

It's still growing and look healthy, but what recovery time should I expect?
Will it be strong enough to continue main-lining?
Should I just release the other branch?
Or wait until it's healed and continue?

Are the girls ready for flower??Hi all! I’m wondering when will be good to switch to flower? I’m at start of week 5 & I topped them 1 week ago. Did a small amount of defoliation today to get rid of some yellow leaves that were laying on the soil. Do they look almost ready? Or wait due to topping & defoliation?
