Would you/should I top these?

I am unsure whether to do a final topping. My thinking is that I don’t want to have shoots growing inward but sideways so I’d had to top at the points I marked. But there’s two nodes above that. Isn’t that too much to cut off? Pictures show cutting point and what’s above that.

Hi .....

at week 4 with that structure I’d go for it. Cutting 2 nodes above the marked point isn’t wasted those become your new tops after recovery. The LST you’re already doing will help spread them outward naturally. Just make sure you have enough veg time left for recovery (7-10 days minimum before you think about flipping). The canopy will thank you later.

If it doesn't over-crowd the canopy, sure. Should work backward from a target canopy. Then, it's not a decision but rather part of an already mapped out plan to efficiently fill the area. Only need 2-3 vertical colas per square foot to maximize yield. This also makes it unnecessary to defolialte and significantly reduces any pruning needs by avoiding over-crowding... less cut off the plant = less wasted time and resources.

hi. In cultivation, cutting two nodes at once is called late topping or "structural pruning", and the plant will take it very well for several reasons. The main trunk that we see is already very thick and vigorous. Removing the top will simply redistribute all the energy and growth hormones (auxins) directly to the lower side branches you have targeted. In the photos, you are in week 4 of plant growth (Veg). This is the perfect time to do that last pruning before the plant goes into flowering. Leave a small margin: When you are going to cut at your red line, try to leave about 0.5 to 1 centimeter of stem above the remaining node (do not cut too close). This prevents the stem from splitting in two when the two future lateral branches grow larger and heavier. have a good evening and a great continuation.

Hey ohcibi, you really don't need to stress about taking off two nodes at this stage. At week 4 your plant looks totally healthy and vigorous enough to handle that cut without missing a beat. If your main goal is to push that sideways lateral growth and keep the center open, making the cut exactly where you marked it is a great plan. Taking a slightly larger chunk off the top just redirects those growth hormones to your lower branches even faster, and you could even try to root that top as a clone if you wanted to. Just make sure you leave a tiny little stump of stem above the node you are cutting to prevent the main stalk from splitting later on when the branches get heavy. You got this, so don't overthink it and make the cut. Happy Growing GrowmieđŸŒ±

I wouldn't bother topping again. She looks like she's got a good shape to her that will fill your space fine. If you do decide to top again then wait a little longer before flipping to let the little shoots you would be exposing get bigger.
