Hi topping is almost mandatory in indoor growing. I suggest to dont cut the leaves, because of the readily available energy they stored. Instead i highly suggest to cut the growing TIPS that you dont need. The lower ones won't get enough light and they steal resources aimed to the top colas. that's my suggestion

So I guess I was looking for people who “mainline” where you remove everything but two fan leaf’s and the start of two tops and then continue to do the same and get about 8 or more main bud sights.

I wouldn't take that much I would go to about the third nod from the top and leave a couple fan leaves that's what gets all the energy to the plant and topping is fine unless it's a auto then don't won't do you any good just stunts the growth

Why? What for? Just remember............ less leaves = less energy production = less growth.

Check my actual diary. There’s every steps week by week to do it correctly. You must top after the 3rd node and wait for the 2 tops shoots to grow a bit, then you can plug off the fan leaves from the main stem at each internodes.

I don't cut anything until i have 7 nodes. Then i will cut the top off down to the 4th or 5th node. And i certainly don't defoliate anything at that tender young age. You'll have plenty of opportunity to fuck up your plant down the road so why start at such a young age? lol

I would wait to do anything. When I top I cut 4th node off, and remove 1st node. No need to defoliate as the leaves are not covering anything. You need the leaves to produce energy
