Absolutely! You need to whack out lost of leaves to allow for air flow. If not you can increase chance of mold and but rot. When cutting leaves I cut the big fan leaves that point inwards and cover lower buds. Doing this will allow better light penetration and result in more dense buds. Although scary, it's required to prevent mold and mildew and allow for more dense buds that are higher quality.
