Root rot :(

I believe I have a case of root rot. Pic attached. I just added Orca in the morning, and noticed orange foam and these roots literally hours later. Water was still under 70 from the res change sunday afternoon. Currently 68.
I rinsed in tap, they look a little better. ;(

@agricola Hi mate yes that is root rot and is more than liely caused from your nutrient solution being too warm
When I grow with DWC I like to keep mine at around 17-18c as this keeps the plant happy as well as inhibiting the bad rot fom growing
It can also act as a buffer if you have a slight temp spike it won't go into the danger zone but if you keep your res warmer than say 19 you run the risk of rot if it wanders higher over time . Also what is orca? is it organic? Dont mix organic with synthetics in hydro it rarely ends well

Most rot will happen at temps over 21c I keep mine at 19 to 20 I.e cooler turns on when it hits 20 to bring it back down to 19. You can try silver bullet to kill it off but tbh with you at week 1 just bin and go again. Or you will spend the next 2 months struggling. Also try using hydro guard you will never have a problem when using hydro guard . Also if you can invest in a good water cooler and keep the temp below 21. Sorry for your loss bro, but it’s all a learning curve.

Hello, problems hydro. Roots are turning brown and i can not identify if its a rot or not. besides of colour it is not slimy and i can not feel any strong smell coming from water. whem i wash roots with shower it becomes white again but in few hours it turnsback to brown. temp25C

Roots getting brownMy Ph probe didn't work, PH was at least more than 0.30 (maybe 0.60) than displayed. As a result they had multiple chlorosis, now septoria leaf spots and possible Pythium since the roots are getting brown. What would you do to save the crop ? Adding mycorrhizae? Thx!

Rotten rootsSlow growth. Everything seemed to be going in the right direction, but the roots of my white widow DWC have been attacked by a bacteria that is causing them to rot, and I can't seem to get rid of it in any way. I've removed some of the rot, but I believe it's already compromised.

Root rot in (re-used) coco?Medium: coco/perlite (65/35), 25L AirRap pots. Re-used from last grow after 2 months drying followed by rinsing all the cocodust away. There was still rootmaterial from last growth in there. Plants are droopy all the time, stunted grow, but no rotten egg smell. Is this root rot?
