Root rot even using a little water. Can't help It!

In my second try I still had troubles with root rot by overwatering issues. This time I waited even 3/4 between waterings (half liter for plant) but soil never ever dried properly. Next time I'll use Light mix, grow shop pots and practice patience. What else do you advice peep?

Hey there one thing I like todo is set my exaust fan to not run for like 45 min then set to run for 15min this helps the air in the tent heat up and evaporate air from the soil then everyn45 min the exhaust fan will clear the tent letting it start over. Also next time if you use promix HP it is high prosperity witch means it I'd airy and dries out quickly also if you mix extra perlite into it this will help even more also if you put about 1inch of perlite in the bottom of your grow pots this will help a ton with drainage. The key to good roots is having a good start as a seedling. When the plant is still small make sure to only give the seedling like 45 sprays from water bottle then1dt few times you water untill roots hit bottom the container then when you transfer the plant to large pot makensure you are only watering on the egmdge of the pot making roots reach outwards. After plant hadnrooted the pot well then only water when soil is completely dry canntake 1o day or so sometimes durring early veg. Plants will start to look nice for a period then when soil gets really dry plants will start to sag a little this is when you want to water When plants go into flower I like to let them go as long as possible till they look stressed from not enough water then I subtract 1 day from that and then that's my water schedule for flower for the plant. One very important thing is to eater plants individually just because one plant is ready to be watered don't be lazy and water all the plants at the same time. They will all drink up water at diff paces

Hello mate, i could says different things but i choose only one, don't think that the equipment is your problem, at most you could valuate the changing of the ligth. If you want to be sure about the amount of water they need, buy a simple soil moisture meter and the game is done. I think you need to learn some basic things to have the situation under controll, my advice is: search with passion and try to catch all that you can from different resources to find the rigth setup for your situation. Good luck for all!!

if worried about watering... 1) water entire pot - this is not and never was "overwatering" 2) wait for top 1" to dry and repeat (if soil or other high-capacity substrate, sooner in something like coco) If this causes any ill effects, you need to add more perlite or similar to the substrate. don't half water. don't whimsically choose a volume to give. you give enough to accomplish the task. sounds like it is your abnormal watering behaviours and not the substrate's fault. keep it simple. don't over-think it.

If you like to overwater, switch to coco. As long as you don't leave pots sitting in their own runoff it's impossible to overwater it pretty much. Some people with drip feed irrigation water their coco 2-3 times a day.

"soil moisture meausing things" are useless save your money. Incorporate more drainage materials into the medium like Perlite or Vermicutlie. This will help the water flow and now get to bogged up or saturated. In soil some packets become dry or water logged then nothing grows in it. causing issues. useing a wetting agent can help the water flow though the medium as well. Something like Yucca. Also limiting things that mud up also helps. like worm castings and rock dusts/clay.
