Help with DWC

Help. Need it for DWC. Why are my roots turning brown. They just look weak and not so strong. I can touch them and know they are not healthy. Running 4 buckets with 4inch airstones. I'm nowhere near an expert. Just still learning. I've done a DWC before, never problems .
Solved

Totally was the b52. Left her in plain water. She looks to be responding way better. Like that nute just coated the top part of the roots near the net pot. Cleaned it off now she and my other banana Orange plants seem to be growing white clear Chinese noodles. I knew it wasn't me. Y temps are at 68 to 70 degrees. No leaks. We're gonna get to bloom yet

I grow in DWC. More air circulation helps a lot. Hydroguard should be mandatory if your growing in DWC. I don’t even have to regulate my water temps when I use hydroguard. My DWC temps sits at 73F steadily. Change your res atleast one time a week if your getting brown roots. Also use only clear synthetic nutrients when growing in DWC. It sounds stupid but the cleaner your nutrients in color the more white your roots will stay. I started out using General hydroponics and got good results with semi brown roots. I switched to lotus this time and my roots are very white this grow, if your getting brown cloudy build up on the bottom of your reservoir that’s brown algae and you need to clean the system and use hydroguard or something similar. Smell the roots, don’t be shy, get close. Real close. If it smells like bad rotting fish tank crap, that’s no good. That’s root rot. If it smells like nothing or earthy then it’s a ok 👌

I think Its from old nutrient. I used some b 52 from Advanced. Shouldn't have. It was old. Smelled of ammonia. The roots look exactly like that shit. Oily brown and it coated the roots. I rinsed my roots have her in plain water. Will update if she responds

nutrients can stain the root's. When you touch them do they feel slippery and smiley? is there a more concentrated darker spot(Root rot will usually have a darker spot where it started.). Light leaks and water temp is the usual cause. The more air the less chance for rot. If you can move your air pump out of the tent and in a cooler location that will help keep the water colder. Another thing is get some white Bristol board and have it blocking the light from hitting the bucket will also help.

I've been ph ing the water. I have all light leaks covered. Put electric tape on tubing. Don't know what else to do besides buy a chiller. But I see that the ones under 200 don't have any good reviews.

I couldn't type that much. Dumb limit. Anyways water is probably 2 warm. Could it be that I have 2 airstones in some of the buckets and one in the others. Not sure. Im using advanced nutrients grow micro bloom. Getting so pissed I ordered Happy Frog today. Might just cut her and start her in soil.
