Defoliation OK day 12 flower?

Can I remove all the foliage and the lower shoots that don't see the light? I am in day 13 of flowering I have the feeling that they would grow better if a lot of the useless stuff was out, as there are already a lot of shoots.

12 day too early, by look i would say 18 will be ok, BUT !!! Why you need it ? What looks good for human eye, dont work for plants. 90% of defoliated plants here brought worse results than no defoliation would bring ... You cleaned bottoms, plants still dont look happy. Dont do mile long steps, raise your knowledge with experience, not through fails ....

I usually defoliate around day 21 and day 42 of flower. However, I do light trims throughout the grow. When I defoliate I start at the bottom looking under the plant. I remove leaves that are growing downward and under branches. I remove small buds that are just going to make larf. You want to leave a canopy to take in the light so don't remove all the fan leaves, but remove some of the lower ones that are blocking bud sites. The main thing is to remove enough foliage that air can flow through the plant, buds can receive some light, and the plant can be healthy. But not over do it. Best of luck.

I wouldn't remove too much. You really shouldn't do any hard defoliations until the stretch has completely stopped. But, as m0use said. Allowing airflow will help so remove a few choice leaves. And any lollipoppoing should be done now. (So that's removing any leaves and shoots above them)

Looks good so far. More information would be great. Flowering around week 2? Both ways are "okay". I prefer a single bud to be able to spread out and reach its full potential over two smaller buds competing for nutrients and light. Additionally, better airflow prevents leaf overlap and wet spots, which can lead to mold. So I would suggest to lollipop, defoliate and LST here. Ultimately, the goal is to create a flat canopy to maximize light exposure for all bud sites. Good Luck! :)

you already asked this question. Same answer. growdiaries.com/grow-questions/78357-defoliate-ok-or-not If it helps with air flow and prevents leaves overlapping and creating humidity pockets, then yea. If you have good air flow, then no, leaves = growth.
