Not sure what's causing these purple leaves and leaves drying out. Plant overall seems unhealthy near the end of flowering, any suggestions appreciate

This Dos si dos Auto has been struggling over the last couple weeks with upper leaves turning purple and drying out/breaking apart. The buds also look strange to me but that may just be from my inexperience. I'm growing in organic soil and have dry amended twice, 18 days apart.

Your plant looks amazing—those purple hues are stunning! 🌿 It seems your plant might be naturally turning purple due to its genetics, especially since it was bred from Purple Indica. This is quite common and becomes more likely when temperatures drop below 20°C (68°F). The darker color can raise leaf surface temperatures slightly, which might explain why the edges of some leaves have dried out—they were likely already stressed and reacted to the change. Keep up the great work; this is a beautiful grow! 😻

I didn't see in your diary what you are feeding but I would lower the dose just a little, especially if your still using nitrogen. Idk what intensity you're running your light at but either lower intensity or move the light higher. You want to do this toward harvest anyways so you don't hurt the trichomes and top buds, plus the lower intensity triggers cooler temps which preserves terpenes, as well as other benefits. Still have some white pistils that need to amber and curl but you will want to start watching trichomes on the buds and calyx soon. Trichome maturity is based on if they're indica, sativa, or a balanced hybrid. When the bulbous heads of the trichomes are fully developed but still translucent, plants will produce a "high" and stimulanting effect, less sedative. It is the perfect moment to harvest strong Indica strains. When these bulbous heads turn milky is probably the best moment to harvest most available hybrids. When 70% of these trichome heads are milky and 30% amber, it is the perfect time to harvest mostly Sativa hybrids and long flowering strains (like Haze).

Light is bit too high for the leaves, but i wouldnt change anything. you cant just adjust the light too one topcola, than the rest of the plant is left behind, so i would just take it. If you want you can suppercrop single topcolas to your prefered height in your next run

litttle overfed, little senescence... looks like you still have some ripening to go... then, you just start scoping trichomes on the calyxes until you see the right amount of amber - this will be somewhat of a personal preference you'llhave to experiment to find.. 5-10%? 100%? calyxes only and multiple locations of plant assessed, not just top colas. while fertilization may be a bit out of balance, ceasing at this point might not be wise. building terps and thc requires building blocks. it just doesn't manifest mass out of the ether.
