Floweringprogress at day 53 (out of 70-75 days)

The lady (Laughing Buddha) has been in bloom for 53 days out of a theoretical 70 to 75 days. The trichomes are now looking quite mixed here and there. Some amber-colored trichomes can even be found on the sugar leaves. What do you think? Should I wait until day 70?

I personally do 2 or 3 harvests. I prefer the effects of an earlyish sativa harvest and will harvest the premium tops at about 10% amber. Then the section below i let mature to about 25%. The final harvest, if at all, is about 30-40%. Regardless of what percentage you go with, i would advise you use sugar leaves for your reference. These will always turn much earlier. I also recommend you don't go directly off the breeders "days to harvest". I have had plants ready sooner or later than that time. Usually an extra week or so. It is a good reference for when to start checking trichomes though.

don't say out of a pre-determined number that may or may not be true. it'll only motivate you to do something whimsical vs what the plant dictates. guesstimates from the breeder are fine and do have a use, but don't allow it to be a part of determining harvest window in any way. it's not late or early realtive to an estimated guess for a wide range of genetic variety possible. Some rigid beliefs below. I'm a fan of an earlier harvest with less amber visible, but some peopel like it near 100%. this is a personal preference and you should experiment to find what you prefer. I don't like weed that makes me sleepy, but not everyone has the same effects, even if most do. Think of any other drug like Nyquil. Some peopel get hyper from nyquil, others fall into a deep coma within 15-30minutes of taking it, bwahaha. You may like the chemical makeup of the buds at any point in the harvest window and the labels or what happens for others is completely irrelevant to that fact. Can always take buds off at different times, label them as far as how much amber you see and you can test multiple stages of ripeness from one harvest. Makes keeping track of drying times a bit more complicated, but any adult should be able to handle that.

You want a 10 to 30 percent amber trichromes and the rest cloudy on the buds not the . So it looks like you could go about 4 to 7 more days.

Clear jelly trichomes are a wasted effort, They have zero active ingredients. 30% amber is the way of the walk. Hold the course. You don't have to put a lot of thought into this you have well traveled path and breeder instructions. You got this learning is fun.

Plant is done. Leaving it much longer will see lots of THC breaking down into CBD and CBN causing sleepy narcotic buds.

Whether or not it's finished depends on where you're taking your trichome pictures at. If its the trichome on your sugar leaves, don't go by that. However, if indeed those are trichome pictures from your buds, then yes, you're in the harvest window. Some people like a more uplifting high and would start their harvest about now. Others prefer more of a "sedative" stoned high and those people would be likely to wait another week to 10 days. If they were mine? I'd be cutting according to the breeder's recommendation, but that's just me. I've found through experience that since the harvest time is actually a 2-3 week window, it's better to wait than to rush into harvest.
