My tent is 80cm x 80cm x 180cm and i use a 400w hps/mh. Based on all light calculations i came across it gives me a total requirements of light of around 160-200 watts. Should i downgrade to a 250w system or keep the 400w and why please, some expert ? Thx

Hi dude! If I were you I wouldn't downgrade the lights. Did you know that you can benefit from that HPS and the heat that comes from it? If you have a chance you should add CO2 to the tent and keep the CO2 level in max 1500PPM. With added CO2 in the air the plants will do MUCH better in more light and higher heats. I think the optimum is 1500PPM CO2 and ~30C' temperature. Your plants will theoretically do photosynhesis 4x times more with this setup. So don't downgrade lights just adjust your setup to that added light and heat! Just keep an close eye on the plants and adjust the distance from the light to plants correctly so you don't burn the plants.

I would keep the light you got and just turn it down during your veg cycle and then turn it up when you get into bloom! More light the better in flowering! Adjust the light depending on how your plants react you’ll knowing you can turn it up or if you should tone it down! Good luck 🍀👍

LED glass/plastic cover.Glass/plastic cover on cheap led lights.. do you remove them or not? From keeping reptiles I know that any glass/plastic will reduce UV. Just wondering if anybody's noticed any difference after removing the glass.

My grow tent is sitting in my basement, which normally sits at 10C in the winter, so I set the heat in the room to 18C and the LED and 2 fans heat it to 20.4C in the tent. Anyone have a similar setup but using their grow lights as a heat source? Heating a basement is expensive.
