Thinning out fan leaves?

Robbdogg
Robbdoggstarted grow question 5 years ago
I’m in week 4 of flower. Should I thin out fan leaves as much as possible to create more airflow and light to flowers? Or should I leave them on to retain water? Thank you.

We do it but only for leaves that shade, at first. If you keep the amount you trim to under 5% of total leaf mass you dont stress the plant. Take your time till you get the hang of it.

Hi @Robbdogg yes, you should do some defoliation on the larger leaves, but gradually so that the plant will not stress and be late. I normally do it every 5 days depending on the response of the plant until the desired result. good luck mate 👍🙏
