In picture 2 of my week 4 post, the plant has gotten very tiny white spots on the leaves, if anyone knows what this means and what action I should take to get rid of them if needed or what impending doom I am in for let me know. Thanks, Raaneal

Hi Raaneal, You almost definitely have thrips. Thrips suck the plants leaves, which can become spotted and lose colour like yours in pic 2. For a minor invasion, sticky traps are a good idea, layer them on the inside of your pot under your plants leaves and the thrips will get caught on them! You can also look with a microscope and manually remove them. A great option is to bring in natural predators. Ladybugs are amazing and love to eat thrips. They will also do no damage to your plants. The third option is using Neem oil. Neem oil is oil pressed from the fruits and seeds of the neem tree. It is used as a pesticide and is completely organic. It repels a lot of pests including Thrips. You will need to get something to mix the neem into the water as oil is not water soluble. You can buy the two together usually online, it is normally a safe liquid soap. Use sparingly and start slow as neem is strong and in my opinion is horrible smelling so do not get any on your fingers! Good luck and let us know what you decide to do! RIP Thrips!

Hi bro , It could be thrips or red spiders under your leaves ! Neem oil is the best cheaper natural product against almost any bugs ! Think about it and good luck

Little white spots with black dots are thrips.. The white spots are where they munch the plant, the black dots are poo I personally would treat with SNS209 and neem oil mixed spray Use a 32oz sprayer with ro water 3ml of sns 209 3ml dynagrow neem oil, 3ml dynagrow proteck Shake well and apply 15mins after lights off, coat the top and bottom of the plant, you can also "feed/water" with the same solution when they need water next time or now.. It seems your new to growing.. Your gonna wanna spray your plants every 20 ish days and feed water too to prevent bugs... I put mine on the calander and treat veg every 20 days and my flower gets treated untill day 30 flower

Hi @Raaneal! You're having a thrips invasion, I think I can even see one of those bastards on your picture #2. They are tiny insects that suck the nutrients out or your leaves, they hide below the leaves and everywhere they can, and reproduce very quickly in hot environment. The best solution I found so far is using neem-oil mixed with water, and spray this foliar solution at night when the lights are off. Remember to spray above and below the leaves. Your local growshop or your local garden store should have pure neem-oil for you, you'll just have to mix a few drops with non-calcareous water (I usually use 10 to 15 drops for 1L of solution). Hope this helps, keeps us up-to-date, and happy growing 👊

Hi Ranaal . For me it looks like leafminers. little pests tht sitting under your leaves and eat it. You can do several things. as they are in vegetative stage you can spray on(under) the leaves a) mixture of 1 l water, 1 teaspoon neemoil, and a little dishwashersoap. b) a nicotine solution (1 zigarette in 500 ml water) coriander oil- mix. You can give them "stinky" grow companions like marigold, basil, geranium , tomatos. i would recommend any spray under the leaves.
