How much top do you take off?

How much length do you take and do you notice a difference in the lateral response the more mass/internodes you take with it? What is your experience?

just don't mutilate the node.. it'll work the same. i leave 1/2" in hopes it's more resistent to splitting when it is trained and force is applied as it resists. But, that's only relevant to the top most node nearest the scrog, the rest doesn't have that sort of force applied to worry about. excess stem left behind is a slight risk of infection, i guess? if it shrivels a bit, it's not being maintained by the plant.

hi..... I usually top after the third or fourth internode........ The later you top, the faster the growth of the side branches and more foliage will develop...... Just test it out on 2 plants and you'll notice the difference...... Good luck

I usually never top. I have my own technique, of twisting and squashing main top , if it runs too much, or old style LST , worst case ( if she stretched a lot during flower ) i supercrop them. You loose grow time if you top, i never went that way ...
