It has been another amazing week of the plants growing. I have been watching as the Fruity Freak leaves become progressively more fern-like, and ornamental as a result! Based on my Banizzle grows, I knew I needed to understand plant nutrients in a more meaningful way if I wanted these plants to thrive. So, I decided to get a soil test (see Ref. 1 below on how to perform a test) to understand what nutrients my plants needed. The report I received advised that I needed to add 200 lbs/acre of nitrogen, 150 lbs/acre of phosphorus, and 190 lbs/acre of potassium (see picture labeled Pic.1 (FYI you can't see these images unless you login to growdiaries)). I then researched what to do with my results (Ref. 2 helped), and I figured out that my nutrient needs of 200-150-190 fall close to a 2-1-2 ratio. I then looked at different types of organic fertilizers (see Ref. 3 and Ref. 4) and considered that I already had a 3-10-5 fertilizer (Vermibloom) on hand. I discovered Dr Earth’s Alfalfa Meal is 2-1-2 and includes beneficial bacteria and mycorrhizae (to promote healthy plant growth and disease resistance). However, I knew I would be low on nitrogen if I only used those two fertilizers. Therefore, I decided to buy some blood meal (12-0-0). I also liked that blood meal is more fast acting while the other two are more moderate. I hunted around for a solid fertilizer calculator and found an amazing tool from the University of Georgia Extension (Ref. 5). I entered all three fertilizers into the calculator, and it kicked out the exact amount of each fertilizer I needed to apply to 1 square foot (see Pic. 2). As I am using 10-gallon fabric pots (that can hold 1.5 cubic feet, but I put stone on the bottom and there’s space left at the top) I decided to use the one square foot application rate as I can always add more later, but I can’t take it away. Not only did I want to understand the nutrients I needed, but I also wanted to understand the structure of the soil (as it was not included in my test results). North Dakota State University has a nice page that discusses this (Ref. 6), and I performed a soil ribbon test (see Video 1) based on this information. I determined my soil to be medium textured (which is great), but I have seen occasional water pooling on the surface, suggesting that it may be more of a medium-fine. This means adding peat moss, coco coir, or other amendments might improve drainage (and plant hydration) and allow for roots to grow more easily. In the long run, I plan to use compost to enhance the soil structure and nutrients. I filled the bottom of my 10-gallon fabric pots with a ½” of pea stone to allow for drainage (Pic. 3). I then partially filled two 5-gallon buckets with topsoil from near where I will plant (but not in an area the roots will reach). I used a digital scale to measure the amount of fertilizers recommended by the calculator (Pic. 4, 5, and 6) and added it to one of the 5-gallon buckets (see Pic. 7). I mixed the fertilizers into the soil as evenly as possible (Pic. 8 and 9). I then poured a two-inch layer of non-fertilized soil, then peat moss, and then fertilized soil (in a roughly 2:1:1 ratio) and blended them together. I repeated this until the pot was full (getting additional soil as needed), and then I repeated the process for the other three pots. I set the filled fabric pots in my garage (Pic. 10) for two days to allow any upset bugs to flee into my garage instead of my house. I then moved the pots (wrapping them in a contractor garbage bag to prevent making a mess) into the room with the grow light. I placed a board on top of the fabric pots to insulate the plants (in their smaller pots) from the cold soil (Pic. 11). Once the soil in the fabric pots reaches room temperature, I will transplant. (Ref. 1) This video shows the method I used to take a soil sample. I didn’t have a field to test, so I took four samples from the area where I will eventually plant outdoors and blended them together. Week went very well, never had such a good flower before. Some leafes are getting brighter and the ones who dont catch light are falling but its okay. Wish you all the best

420Fastbuds Cinderella Auto Week 2 What up grow fam weekly update on these two. This week has been fun seeing the first leafs getting bigger. I started adding some GH Calimagic to my feed. I'm feeding 500ml of PH'd well water and .25 tsp/gal of some calmag about every other day. Started also my preventive maintenance of sparying PureCrop1 every Monday as the plants seem to respond well and keeps the pest away. All in all Happy Growing

It’s been an accursed year for the grow cycle and we ran in to pretty much every problem you could have with these plants. Aphids, WPM, bud rot. The plant grew strong but the genetic does have some inherent fasciation qualities that were really prevalent with this plant. Not enough to consider unsuitable for breeding though. The bud quality of this strain alone and the overpowering high are just too good not to utilize👌🤟. Stay tuned - the rest are comin down in short order…

HARVEST TIME!!! 👨‍🌾✂️ ALL 5 Banana purple have been chopped trimmed and now curing in grove bags! Drying took around 11 days so perfect. Dry Tent was around 19 - 21 degrees 60% humidity 🍌🍇🥊🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Dry Weight Mainline banana purple - 47.82 gram Thai stick looking one bpp - 54.03 gram BIG MOMMA Purple - 49.96 gram 7gallon banana Purple - 50.55gram Tall Banana purple - 61.05gram ( we have a winner 🏆 ) So happy with results. If I hadn't done any mainlining or anything we might have pushed 60gram+ from them all. I probably won't be doing the main line technique on banana purple again and will just let them go mad as it looks like a 7-10 gram difference in untrained and trained plants. Think I stressed them Bit too much on a couple of them maybe light or nutrients Didn't know about foxtailing until this week when i read about , it hapend on both purples hopefully doesn't effect potency that much. Got a big bag of trim after using spiderfarmer Bowl trimmer ✂️ will try make butter or something lol Smell is! So I remade my diary for the g13. It's currently in week 3 of flowering. I'm giving her just enough of the veg+bloom powder to keep her happy. Which is every couple of waterings.

Thursday 16th march day 59 Harvested a couple days earlier then planned as my humidity was getting a bit high and worried about risking mold I decided to chop, have to get a good dehumidifier soon, everything looking lovely, nice and dense with very strong fruity potent smell definitely the best looking plants I have grown to date not the biggest buds but they look quality, chopped plants whole gonna do my best to keep the temp and rh% in the dry room as close 60/60 as I can to get a nice slow dry, 🍁😎 I only took the wet weight from 1 plant back left plant was 270g with large fan leaves removed

And the first week of flower is amongst us, I’m not sure if it’s the fast bud genetics, the living soil, or a mixture of both, but I think the videos say it all, the deep green throughout, day 41 and just look😍. Everything’s been sitting nicely 24/7 Humidity 49~56%, temps 23~26c This week they all received there last top feed, along with a slight bit of defoliation, some massive fan leaves! slightly over watered as you will notice in one of the videos, but I won’t be surprised if they’ve grew another few inches over night.

👋 Here I am with 5 Nori cake seedlings, I want to grow 3 plants of this variety, I will keep the prettiest seedlings and continue the adventure with them🙏🌲 After a short week of growth I place my seedlings in their final 7Liters pot with a mixture that I made. I use unfertilized soil as a base. And I add organic nutrients from GreenHouseFeeding that I mix at the top of the pot (35Grams BioGrow 14Grams Biobloom) Then I water each pot with 1L of water. I use tap water. AHHHHHHHHH STOP STRETCHING!!!! I had something similar a few runs ago but I thought it was becuase of high temps. I did not find them to be as high this time and still they stretched a very large amount!! All the ladies in the tent, the GG was actually the lady to stretch the least and shes still very tall compared to previous runs. I did my best to trim them right up and light to most of the nodes but this is absolutely not an idea canopy. I had it so nice and under control then it just went wild in there right quick. Ill do my best to get some nice flowers but I would like to know exactly why the whole tent stretch so much?!?!?!?! 😡 aside from that though the lady looks very healthy lol

The Titan is growing as I had hoped. The many side branches are growing larger and in the center is a nice main cola. Beside the LST clips a few weeks ago, no more training is needed it seems. I did some defoilation to optimize the airflow and to give the developing buds in the side branches more light. More pics and updates coming later this week. The Titan is developing a really nice flowery/citrus like smell. I added some Bio Tabs Bio PK 5-8 to the mix to support the many buds she is forming.

Vorab, die sind bisschen durchs Zelt gewandert. Beschriftung von links oben nach recht unten, von links nach recht. Ich habe mich gescheut viel auf einmal abzuschneiden, hab lieber 2-3 Tage gewartet, geschaut wie sie es annehmen, bis es wieder notwendig war zuschneiden, um die Mitte der Sherbet Queen freizuhalten und Blätter die kein Licht bekommen wegzunehmen. Bei der Sherbet Queen habe ich die ersten Seitentriebe der unteren beiden "Haupttriebe" entfernt, da diese eh lost sind und die Pflanze sich deshalkb auch mehr gestreckt hat. Die Cherry Pie, mein eigentliches Sorgenkind, sieht mittlerweile aus wie ein richtiger Blumenstrauß, hier habe ich das LST zum richtgen Zeitpunkt angwendet. Bei der Hulkberry ist mir einer der ersten beiden Seitentriebe, der zu einem fetten Arm hätte werden können, leider abgebrochen, außerdem zeigen zwei weitere Risse durch das biegen der Stiele. Sind schon wieder verheilt, nur jetzt angeknackst und nicht mehr allzu stabil. Ansonsten immernoch sehr zufreiden.

#1 pheno has the same problems as last time. Super purpling stems. I think this one needs a little higher ph. Considering i use r/o water that comes out to 6 and i dont ph. Im thinking that might be the issue for this girl. #2 is starting to ganster lean on some branches. Getting heavier even though they are popcorn buds all the way around the plants. Smells are beautiful. But the Wedding Cake x BBC takes over the room. Its a wonderful mix of smells.

Outcome was alright since i had a mite infestation for so long, still happy of what i got out of the plants! will update on dry weight and taste etc. Also that was the first time in grew with “decent” equipment, since i don’t have alot of money to spend i got these quantum boards off alibaba & i’m pretty impressed off what they are able to do!
