Hi all the happy people here in GrowDiaries. This is my second cultivation ever and it will be fun to try a bigger space than my closet grow. First, I'm just going to say I'm done with the construction of my new growroom. I put some pictures on the construction here in week one. The room is 2.14 meters by 1.7 meters and has a ceiling height of 2 meters. It provides a floor area of ​​3.6 square meters. I use a 54 Watt Lightwawe T5 for germination and 2 Pcs 400 Watt HPS lamps. I have a channel fan that replaces the room air about 40 times an hour to get a comfortable theme in the room, the air enters a fresh air intake from the outside. The air is purified through a carbon filter to then leave the room to the rest of the basement. Then I use that heat to heat the rest of the basement. I will use 8 pcs 15 liter Autopots to grow with and a 100 liter water tank that supplies the pots of water and nutrition. I will grow completely organically in soil and will watercure my buds to get the best possible medicine for me. But there are no cultivation rooms to be displayed here, so I continue with what is most important. Today I have put my seeds in my moisture dome and hope the seeds have germinated within a few days. Flower Week 7 Only Water 💧

At the beginning of this week, I have been fighting the gnats, which are less and less now. Just some watering and gradually lowering the light and going to full power. The Orange Hill Special has been filling out great and I must say, she is a pretty plant. With some manual bending and super cropping, I'm bending the longer stalks sideways and we are off. What I actually do is more of an intuitive hybrid between mainlining (where I bend the whole plant 90 degrees at the third week), LST (where I bend branches outward slightly, without tying), HST / Super crop (where I bend the stems 90 degrees with the clips or manually), after which I keep bending outward to SOG and, put the net over to end in SCROG. This same method gave me the canopy in my prize-winning Gelato 33 grow. Check it out if you haven't seen it, it was my first experimental accident that led to beta test of Super Soil mixture 0.7, now we are at Alpha version 1.00 and testing great so far if I say so myself. I haven't seen such lush greens in my own grows, only outdoor. They seem uber-healthy and resilient, with very sturdy stems and leaves. Way more resilient than previous strains I tested in the beta soil. The light is performing, the natural color of it makes everything pop. Mars Hydro has a winner with the SP-3000. Halfway through this week, I took the clips out, AND...... we switched them to go into flowering. After a day the stretch is already visible. I had to bend them again after a couple of days. Now we have almost a tent filling foundation for a maximum result canopy of buds. I was wanting to amend the soil with flowering additions (see recipe in yellow image), but I'm holding it off for two reasons. A/ The leaves are still so green and lush, I think there is an abundance of nutes. B/ @Haoss mentions his suspicions on his OHS grow (@#CannapediaProGrowersCup Orange Hill that very sadly went hermie on him) that nutrition in this phase could have had an influence, after asking what happened to him. I would have loved to see that grow to full harvest. But it makes me a bit cautious. if Haoss (whom I consider to be one of the star growers here) couldn't prevent this, what chance have I? I'm waiting until the girls start asking for nutrients. They'll show me what they need in their own time. For now this soil is the shizzle (also quite literally) and Im happy with how everything is going. I remember much more hassle and steering in the last grow. This grow, even the Gorilla runt seems happy. I now water them 3 liters of water / Perma tea mixture every 4 days, every 3rd watering I don't do the tea. This makes for fewer gnats and this soil seems to hold water nicely, also due to the hydro corn. What I like is there is always some unforeseen circumstance, a tilt of the tables, some battle to be fought which delivers in big harvests or, in worst case, no harvest at all. It makes it more exciting, when your heart is at stake, we pour a lot of love and attention in the ladies. So with hopes, but not too high, we go into flowering. Edit from 16th May. Ok, so... I got Fungus Gnats... I vacuum cleaned my plant my accident... Overwatered first 2 plants... This is not like riding bicycle, I had to re-learn few things. But we going strong! The biggest plant (Fat Banana week #4) growing big and strong, every 2 hours I can notice some changes, she seems to like the environment (32C and ~40% Humidity), soil stays wet for weeks literally. I have to buy bottom feeders and keep the top soil dry bone to prevent Fungus Gnats having sex in wet soil. I have switched to 600W now and I put my lamp around 30cm higher then before. I have a net for Sea Of Green hanging and waiting but Im not sure If Im gonna use it or If I'm gonna "lollipop" these plants just because there is so many of them now there. I didn't "top" because I believe that main cola produce some banger THC content and terps, so I want to focus on all main colas and just tackle the side ones. Edit from 17th May. It looks like Fungus Gnats don't like 24h light. I can see larvas trying to eat the roots (fuck you you fucking.... FuckYouGnat). But I don't see adults flying around. 4x yellow tape helps as well for sure. I ordered some Nematodes, they should be here next week. Until then I'm fighting manually. I placed a decoy on most of the pots. I'm hoping to attract larvas to the decoy instead of baby roots of my plants. They already eat one of my seedling before it even fully open the shell, so I think there are not so many of them to attack all plants at once. I feel like I'm having more and more control over them everyday. Moving the dry soil to the sides also helps a bit with killing larvas. Just uncover the wet parts with larvas and blast them with all the watts you have. So far 2 big plants looks good and healthy, some praying leafs every now and then. I think I'm gonna leave the lights for 24/7 until I'm gonna be sure these FuckYouGnats are gone. Edit form 18th May. Nematodes arrived, I mixed 1 pack in 2L and watered all 8 pots. I have 1 pack left that I'm planning to use next week or after 2 weeks. Lady Banana is showing her sex. I was worried that it looks like hermie but I think it's just Calyx in very early stage. She also looks "wilt", I guess from all that dry period, she got some water today with nematodes, I'll check on her tomorrow. Vacuum Cleaner Surviver going strong! I believe she would even survive a house fire!

New grow and with come its own issues I started nutrients to late and had a heat issue but all that has subsided this week a did a little defoliation and made sure to revamp nutrients

Man this week has been taking forever, my theory is it will only get slower relative to harvest just because my excitement. I top dressed with about 2 inches of worm castings with an eyeballed mix of 2tbps of bone meal (3-14-0, bloom fert.), 1.5-2tbps of Gaia green all purp.(4-4-4, I don’t have an actual potassium fert. Like leingbenite So I use this), 3tbps of dr earth kelp meal (1-.05-2 has many different vitamins, amino acids, carbohydrates) and 2tbps of mykos (for microbiology inoculation and nutrient uptake/upkeep). So I every time I water I have this old 2gallon water tin that I usually fill up about a quarter to half way full. Using this amount of water and the 5 gallon bucket of my soil mix makes my watering schedule once every 3 days (on average). I do use bottle nutrients but it’s mainly for the supplementing. For feeding I use 2-3ml to half a gallon for all bottle nutrients, I have never gone over, and I have never had deficiency’s that can hinder plant development. Deficiency's: PSA: Now if anyone happens to read and actually look at my plants please do look closely and maybe let me know if you see something that I have missed since I’m still very new. I noticed my plant was having a cal mag issue so that’s why I top dressed with worm castings, I also top dressed with about 3tbps of azomite (I feel using azomite it may help with all those unnoticeable deficiency’s that a new grower might miss). I’ve been noticing on some of the leaves the very tips are showing discoloring, since the color is still so vibrant mostly I can rule out nitrogen, phosphorus, Iron, manganese, and sulphuric. It’s still very early stage so I did an extremely light foliage feeding (in the dark to prevent UV damage) of 2ml of big bud, big bloom, and tiger bloom, mixed into half a liter of water, I then emptied the spray bottle and sprayed with tap water just to make sure there’s no nute burning. Today I fed the plant through water amendments with 3ml of big bud, 3ml of bud candy, 3ml of big bloom, and 2ml of tiger bloom;(my theory is hopefully the nutrient deficiency’s will go away) My soil mix is pretty basic. 40% coco, 10% perlite, 10% well composted chicken manure, 20% black gold compost, 20% worm castings. I’m not going to put the fertilizer amendment percentage to be honest I eye ball it but there’s a rough general measurements that I do.

Day 21 and I tied down a few branches to spread them out a little. This platonium has a lot bigger node spacing than the other plants. They seem happy with the nutrients so I didnt mess with the reservoir this week. Will probably give them a little calmag before the end of next week. Just going to try to keep up with some training to get as many tops as possible. Debating on building some type of scrog this run but still undecided.

This week was their last of bulking. I have to harvest them in two weeks because I'll be away from home for a while. I think it'll give them enough time to finish anyway, pistils are turning brown and by lowering nitrogen and using crop steering I think they'll be ready soon! #3 is really really sweet, almost like Z. #2 smells like burnt plastic and #1 a bit chemical and sweet

Really starting to flower everywhere. Was hoping for some more height before flowering started, but now I just need to make sure the baby girl packs on as much flower as possible! Days 15 to 17, varying by plant: My journey of experimentation, aiming to refine and perfect my cannabis cultivation methods, continues. This venture’s ultimate objective is to position myself as a preeminent cannabis cultivator in my locale. As I navigate through the labyrinth of regulatory licensing, I’m conducting a trial run with my seedlings under continuous lighting conditions and a minimal nutrient regime. My primary goal during this phase is to identify any potential hiccups that could hinder the growth process and ultimately impact the productivity of my intended commercial operation. As I delve deeper into this exploratory phase, I draw invaluable insights from the thriving cannabis community, whose collective wisdom informs my decision-making process. Given my geographical location and available resources, I’ve opted for a strategic shift in my cultivation strategy. Previously, I’ve been procuring seeds at an average cost of $10 to $22 per seed, with a relatively broad success rate variance, ranging from 70% to 85%. However, an alternative presents itself in the form of local cultivators. These businesses offer cannabis plants aged between 2 to 4 weeks, boasting an impressive variety of over 100 strains. These juvenile plants are offered at a cost-effective rate: an average of $100 for eight plants. With a success rate hovering between 70% and 95%, these plants offer excellent value. Essentially, I can access pre-grown plants at a substantial discount, in turn significantly boosting my chances of success. Consequently, I am poised to transition away from growing cannabis from seeds to harvesting. By sourcing my plants from local cultivators, I stand to significantly reduce overhead and production time—an undeniably smart move from a business standpoint. This strategic pivot signifies the end of an era and the exciting beginning of a more efficient and cost-effective chapter in my cannabis cultivation journey. I am currently outlining a plan to expand my cultivation by acquiring several juvenile plants, which should be happening between July 1st and 3rd. The new additions to my garden will include Acapulco Gold, Gelato, White Truffle, and Runtz. These will be cultivated in harmony with the existing growth, which comprises God’s Gift, Northern Lights, and the final surviving F1 Epsilon. My primary objective is to establish the most efficient and cost-effective supply chain possible. I aim to achieve this through the use of an off-grid system that runs solely on solar power, which will ensure complete sustainability and renewability. From a business standpoint, this approach is advantageous as it allows me to leverage the growth of high-quality plants that are already in the cultivation phase. The new plants are expected to arrive in about a week. If the growth rate of the currently cultivated plants doesn’t meet expectations, I’ll be incorporating several of the newly arrived plants into the hydroponics systems. This methodical approach aims to ensure an optimal growth rate and the highest possible yield. I also wish to address the cannabis grower community directly. I hope that my decision to skip the seed-to-plant stage does not cause any offense. My intentions are simply focused on maximizing quality and output, while minimizing our carbon footprint. I believe this approach is in the best interest of sustainability and efficiency, without compromising on the quality that our community values so highly. As we proceed with this venture, we’re currently in the phase of collecting equipment and navigating through the licensing process. Bilan ​Retour d'expérience sur la culture : Cette variété s'est avérée être une plante très facile à cultiver. Malgré quelques erreurs totalement involontaires au cours du run — notamment un pH monté trop haut par moments et des coups de chaleur excessive provoqués par des lampes très proches (dus à la grande taille des plantes et à des températures extérieures élevées) — elle a super bien supporté les éléments. Elle est restée saine et en excellente santé tout au long de sa vie. Le système Autopot a, quant à lui, fonctionné à merveille : simple, autonome et redoutablement efficace. ​Le calvaire de la manucure (6 heures de nettoyage) : Si la culture fut un long fleuve tranquille, la défoliation finale avant séchage a été particulièrement complexe ! En raison de sa structure prononcée en queues de renard (foxtailing) et de la densité extrême des buds, retirer les petites et grandes feuilles incrustées au cœur des têtes est devenu un travail d'orfèvre. Il aura fallu 6 heures de nettoyage intensif. Une multitude de "monofeuilles" (feuilles à une seule pale) s'étaient formées à l'intérieur même des têtes, une réaction de défense typique de la plante pour transpirer et évacuer le stress thermique causé par la proximité de la lampe. ​Conclusion du run : Je ne pouvais sincèrement pas rêver mieux pour cette session. Cette plante se classe directement parmi mes préférées de tous les temps. C'est malheureusement ma dernière culture avant la pause estivale.
