Had my first ph issue, was coming before I did res swap I believe. After swap at 60% nutients (GH) root zone is leaching into res raising ec and lowering ph. Chased the ph for a couple days with up and had still had full point drops. I added a couple gallons 100% (showing deficiency) solution to raise ec an recharged my torus module (should have done this at first flower res swap). I had added an additional air stone for an area of res I found sediment (was assuming precipitate of nutes), research said might have caused acid rain situation. I turned it off even an hour and saw no change in ph but left it off to take a factor out. Things are slowly settling, will not take any aggressive actions like a flush unless it continues a few more days. Until then, a bit of up and watching for obvious signs. Shout out to @hashy for being the only one to reply to my question and not jump to drastic measures immediately. Except the aggressive defoliation I just did during a wild ph swing... but it was that time and humidity is still high. Taking a big risk but she’s chugging along no matter what I do. Oh, and I added an additional spider farmer sf1000 today too. It’s at 100%. Am I mad? I ducted exhaust (now the t6 and a 4” vivosun from pre upgrade, both with filter) outside my room as temps are higher than I want and my ac is working overtime from the heat wave and having to cool heated air. It is a portable unit single hose cooling the whole room and I will be converting the intake air into the compressor to be ducted from outside (like a dual hose unit) so it is not using my cooled air to cool the air. And insulating the exhaust hose because it is radiating 113 degrees into my room instead of outside. Humidifier also dumping hot air into the room as I was putting the tent rh right back into the room. Hope these efficiencies allow me to control my environment a bit more.

Ph dropped hard 24 hr after res change @ 60%. Had changed 1 week prior due to high ec + slowly dropping ph and added another air stone. Turned off the air stone for an hour, no change so likely not acid rain situation. Ph up’d, plant never showed signs of being unhappy. Thoughts?

I have had this a few times. I'm not sure what causes it but my theory is all to do with the nutrients. I'm thinking that the nitrogen increases Ph as during flower you use less N. I just let it drift down then PH up when it happens.

@Greenfingers666, showing page not found for that one but I peeked at your other grows. Do you do all autos? I tried some outdoor last year but conditions were harsh. I appreciate the ingenuity of trellis on your pink man! I need to get a second net up so things don’t topple in a couple weeks...

@Greenfingers666 thanks, learned quite a bit through this run and settled on a cabinet design for flowering and I’ll turn this into veg/clone tent.

@AutoCrazy, do it. They are a better option than what I am using (HDX 17gal). It bows, the lid is very light permeable and has grooves for moisture to hide. A cooler is insulated (I have a way overpowered chiller but still a benefit if it runs less!), is intended to hold water and has a tight sealing lid. I’ve suffered excessive evaporation in the tote due to a lack of seal and large surface area of water to evaporate. I’ve been working on what is essentially an rdwc trough that minimizes surface area of the water, uses no pvc tubing (which is safe, to a degree, but I want to avoid) and doesn’t consist of multiple containers with potentially leaking bulkheads which will be made made of fiberglassed plywood with pond armor as it is aquarium safe. I like the 2’ deep by whatever setups to flush against a wall for less footprint so it’s hard to get the space between plants needed without having massive surface area to evaporate. Good luck and get creative, you may discover something that works great.

@Gzuscamp, I am going to be building my own setup using a cooler and all sorts of other gizzmos that I found on the web. It will be original but the “science” behind it is sound lol.

@Gzuscamp, yeah, like anything it takes time to dial it in. I am sure in the long run it will prove easier then soil. That’s my hope.
