The time is finally here! Flushed with clearex for 7 days and had about 56 hours dark before chop. For a 2x4 tent I’m gonna say this is a pretty solid harvest. What’s hanging is A (tops, purple, dense), B (tops, not purple, dense), and C (loose or less developed buds) and D (larf) are in paper bags to become dry ice hash and RSO. I think this plant could’ve produced even more had I addressed the ph/lockout due to res conditions but I wasn’t sure what was happening. A lot has been learned and I’ll never go back to soil except for food and shrubs, dwc growth just can’t be matched. And now that I understand how it works actually much easier than soil as I can directly apply a remedy without soil interfering. I was hoping big things from the little torus hydro ph balancer, worked great in veg but not sure how much it was helping in flower. Will continue using it since I have more solution for it but upcoming grows will have ph dosers so things never get out of line. Unfortunately temps soared for this weekend so the tent is warmer than I’d like, hoping I can stretch the dry as long as possible because these flowers are WET. It smells really creamy and subdued. It’s not so loud that it alerts the whole neighborhood but legit smells like a complex desert! Tried a spot of scissor hash which left a lovely white ash and tasted AHHHHHHHMAZING. Very excited to try the sample buds in a few days. Also if you like those rolling trays my friend makes them and you can get them at “fluidity by Mattie” online. Tell her I sent you for a 0% discount! But really she makes neat stuff check it out. Anyone wanna guess dry weight?!? I’ll be back with that when it’s ready, until then thanks and happy growth!

Grow Questions

Ph dropped hard 24 hr after res change @ 60%. Had changed 1 week prior due to high ec + slowly dropping ph and added another air stone. Turned off the air stone for an hour, no change so likely not acid rain situation. Ph up’d, plant never showed signs of being unhappy. Thoughts?

I have had this a few times. I'm not sure what causes it but my theory is all to do with the nutrients. I'm thinking that the nitrogen increases Ph as during flower you use less N. I just let it drift down then PH up when it happens.

@Greenfingers666, showing page not found for that one but I peeked at your other grows. Do you do all autos? I tried some outdoor last year but conditions were harsh. I appreciate the ingenuity of trellis on your pink man! I need to get a second net up so things don’t topple in a couple weeks...

@Greenfingers666 thanks, learned quite a bit through this run and settled on a cabinet design for flowering and I’ll turn this into veg/clone tent.

@AutoCrazy, do it. They are a better option than what I am using (HDX 17gal). It bows, the lid is very light permeable and has grooves for moisture to hide. A cooler is insulated (I have a way overpowered chiller but still a benefit if it runs less!), is intended to hold water and has a tight sealing lid. I’ve suffered excessive evaporation in the tote due to a lack of seal and large surface area of water to evaporate. I’ve been working on what is essentially an rdwc trough that minimizes surface area of the water, uses no pvc tubing (which is safe, to a degree, but I want to avoid) and doesn’t consist of multiple containers with potentially leaking bulkheads which will be made made of fiberglassed plywood with pond armor as it is aquarium safe. I like the 2’ deep by whatever setups to flush against a wall for less footprint so it’s hard to get the space between plants needed without having massive surface area to evaporate. Good luck and get creative, you may discover something that works great.

@Gzuscamp, I am going to be building my own setup using a cooler and all sorts of other gizzmos that I found on the web. It will be original but the “science” behind it is sound lol.

@Gzuscamp, yeah, like anything it takes time to dial it in. I am sure in the long run it will prove easier then soil. That’s my hope.
