Res finally stabilized again, but time for a swap. She’s drinking around gallon a day (!) with minimal ec rise and I’ve been topping off with RO and hydroguard only but that means I’ve replaced almost 70% of my solution and still maintaining ppm. Did a simple flush for a couple hours with RO just to break down any salts and coming out was about 180 ppm over RO. New solution added which is sitting about 1100 after settling. I do find it odd as I was pushing ec really hard in veg and she loved it and I’ve had to pull back during flower. Finally showed a bit of nute burn from the ph and ec swings a couple weeks ago but not worried about it as she finally bulking up a bit. As this was my first scrog I’m realizing I should’ve been even harsher in lollipopping as I have quite a few branches that didn’t break canopy and are atrophying. Next run I would like to have only dominant branches as colas but since I’m using clones I can’t do my usual mainlining. Will likely slightly affect yield but that larf and lower grade will become RSO and dry ice hash so I’m still very happy. On another note, the clones I have taken a little over month ago before flip have been doing great. Gave one to a neighbor and 6 are going to my dad’s neighbor next weekend to be grown outdoor and at high elevation! UV is STRONG there as they are near 8000 feet elevation. So that will be interesting. It is her first attempt at growing so I’m trying to set her up for success. I am left with 3 younger clones to choose as a mother as I want to keep 3-4 strains on hand so once I get the perpetual harvest going I can rotate strain. I also took a couple clones in flower to witness monster cropping and had 90% success so far! These are just to learn the techniques and will just be kept as ornamentals on my balcony as it gets a lot of artificial light at night negating proper flowering.

Ph dropped hard 24 hr after res change @ 60%. Had changed 1 week prior due to high ec + slowly dropping ph and added another air stone. Turned off the air stone for an hour, no change so likely not acid rain situation. Ph up’d, plant never showed signs of being unhappy. Thoughts?

I have had this a few times. I'm not sure what causes it but my theory is all to do with the nutrients. I'm thinking that the nitrogen increases Ph as during flower you use less N. I just let it drift down then PH up when it happens.

@Greenfingers666, showing page not found for that one but I peeked at your other grows. Do you do all autos? I tried some outdoor last year but conditions were harsh. I appreciate the ingenuity of trellis on your pink man! I need to get a second net up so things don’t topple in a couple weeks...

@Greenfingers666 thanks, learned quite a bit through this run and settled on a cabinet design for flowering and I’ll turn this into veg/clone tent.

@AutoCrazy, do it. They are a better option than what I am using (HDX 17gal). It bows, the lid is very light permeable and has grooves for moisture to hide. A cooler is insulated (I have a way overpowered chiller but still a benefit if it runs less!), is intended to hold water and has a tight sealing lid. I’ve suffered excessive evaporation in the tote due to a lack of seal and large surface area of water to evaporate. I’ve been working on what is essentially an rdwc trough that minimizes surface area of the water, uses no pvc tubing (which is safe, to a degree, but I want to avoid) and doesn’t consist of multiple containers with potentially leaking bulkheads which will be made made of fiberglassed plywood with pond armor as it is aquarium safe. I like the 2’ deep by whatever setups to flush against a wall for less footprint so it’s hard to get the space between plants needed without having massive surface area to evaporate. Good luck and get creative, you may discover something that works great.

@Gzuscamp, I am going to be building my own setup using a cooler and all sorts of other gizzmos that I found on the web. It will be original but the “science” behind it is sound lol.

@Gzuscamp, yeah, like anything it takes time to dial it in. I am sure in the long run it will prove easier then soil. That’s my hope.
