Herercane is an uber-rare hybrid creation of Wicked Stix. He started with his Cane Sugar pheno of 'In House Sugar Cane' and bred it with a big beefy Jack Herer.
12/4:
Planted a pair of these beans directly into soil, wetted them and waited.
12/9:
Only one of them has popped so far, so I'm planting my only other one of these beans today.🙏
12/11:
Still just the one sprout so far...
12/12:
I added a few drops of superthrive to the feed water.
12/14:
The replacement bean emerged today! Still no sign of the other...
I added a couple of teaspoons of bushdoctor boomerang to the feed water today..let's get this party started!
12/16:
I potted up the bigger one today and dusted her roots with a bunch of mycorrhizae fungus.🙏
Added another 240w of mixed spectra light to the closet.
12/17:
Potted up the baby today.
12/18:
Not getting a good germination rate initially caused me to forestall giving nutrients to the first one until the replacement could catch up, and now I've got obvious N deficiency going on with the first one..she'll recover, but damnit...
12/19:
The baby is kinda slow to take off, and the other one is slow..but that's my fault..
They were dry enough today that I went ahead and fed them some One, Kangaroots, and Superthrive.......okay girls, do it to it!
12/22:
I fed them a little full strength One and humic acid today, then foliar fed them with Boom Boom Spray and Axiom Harpin a|b proteins.
12/24:
I fed them well today with One, silica, kangaroots and superthrive.
The little one finally got a growth spurt!
12/27:
I fed them each about a half gallon of One, silica, and added some ca/mg.
I set the timers for 12/12...they should be pretty perky after their first night of beauty sleep.💤💪
I am gonna continue the 460w of 5000k+ lighting treatment for another few days, then I'll remove the little lights and hit them with the whole 720w of 3000k plus reds.
1/3/2022:
I fed them One, silica, and gave them a little Open sesame so they've got plenty of P and K available if they want it. Also started adding a little signal and sweet & sticky.
Also started UVB stressing for an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening.
1/4:
Today is the 31st day from seed.
1/6:
Fed them One, signal, sweet & sticky, silica, kangaroots, ca/mg, and open sesame.
Made a fresh batch of sugar and yeast for the CO2 generator.
1/10:
I fed heavily today with One, signal humic acid, silica, sweet & sticky, and open sesame.
1/13:
I fed today..same stuff..
Both plants are stretching like crazy..tallest in the garden.
1/15:
Supercropped and weighted the tallest one's apex into a horizontal position.
1/17:
Fed today and added more weight to the supercropped cola....she was standing straight up again when I opened the door today..
Removed the platform from the shorter one...she's likely to be taller than the other one...she's at least 9 days younger...
1/24:
I shoulda fed today, but had no time...
1/25:
I fed today with One, signal, beastie bloomz, silica, sweet & sticky, and humic acid... also foliar fed them with Microlife Maximum Blooms
1/30:
Fed today.
2/2:
The young one has surpassed her older sister in height, but the older on is starting to fatten up and frosting over now.
2/3:
Fed today
2/4:
The older one has always been pale, but she's looking too pale now...think she's just overly sensitive to light..
2/7:
Did a thorough feeding today, and also foliar fed with Microlife Maximum Blooms. Added humic acid.
I spotted a couple of nanners on the main cola of the older/paler one and they had already popped... 😒
Might be some interesting hybrid beans in the garden, but hopefully the recent foliar feedings killed off any stray pollen before much damage was done to the crop.
2/12:
Fed today..no time for anything else..
2/14:
Decreased distance between the lights and canopy. Let the maximum swell commence!
2/16:
Fed today..increased sugars/carbs. This was probably the last feeding with Beastie Bloomz..switching to Cha Ching at next feed and cutting back on the One.
2/20:
I fed today. Started them on a full dose of cha ching and liquidsoil, and stopped adding silica.
Turned on the dehumidifier.
2/21:
Increased UVB exposure by another half-hour per day.
2/23:
Fed today....reduced One....added 1/4 tsp/gal of Cha ching, plus signal, sweet & sticky, and liquidsoil.
Increased UVB exposure by another half-hour per day.
2/26:
Flushed the younger one..she's ripe and ready.
2/27:
Fed the big green one.
3/7:
Had a couple of other crop stragglers, so decided to feed the big girl one more time...she's pretty much ripe, so I'll flush her at the next watering.
She stinks more than her already-harvested sister and her lower growth is healthy and abundant. She should be easily regenerable. I plan to veg her til summer and force her to make pollen and seed herself.
The first one is almost dry now...will jar her up tomorrow.👍
3/16:
Live trimmed the second one today.
3/17:
Harvested and washed the second one today.
One plant was very diesel smelling, and the other smelled like a Sugar Cane...(graham crackers and honey)
Both plants taste like Sugar Cane.
Both plants hit hard and keep you fucked up for a good long while.
Excellent rosin producer!
This is top-shelf bud. Almost too potent to smoke if I have a lot of shit to do...almost...
The quicker one had a few male flowers pop, but didn't seem to catch any of her own pollen. It did knock up a few flowers on a couple of other plants in the garden, though.
I had intended to regenerate and force the one to make some seeds, but due to electricity costs rising, I decided to just regenerate it and veg it for a couple weeks, then put it in the closet to flower with the new seedlings. I'll not be growing this summer at all.
The regenerated plant finished up around June 5th and took a couple weeks to dry. She ended up at 162g..slightly heavier than her first go-round!
@Wicked_Stix,
Thanks man! The first one came down at the beginning of last week and is still hanging to dry..and really reeking up the place!😰
The other plant is still swellin like a melon👈
@GreenHouseLab, Not yet, but once it's dry I'll smoke some and press a little rosin for the report, then probably let it cure for a couple weeks while I harvest the rest of the crop. I like to wait until everything is taste-tested before deciding which strains I'll smoke more of, and which strains I'll dab more of...but yes, I'll bet she gives a very good squish....😍
@GreenHouseLab,
I'm gonna regenerate my best one this run, and veg it til about June...pruning all along the way...then force it and seed it all up...I want THOUSANDS of these magic beans for my very own ...muahahaha!!!!👹
@Wicked_Stix, I am thinking that the pollen from the opened nanners I found on it might've been sterile because I can't find any beans near the surface at all...
Amazing you killed it 🤟🤟 to get them to swell up like that I’m sure you pushed her to the limit. Im holding dearly onto the last two seeds for when I can keep a mother, big fan of this smoke.
@GreenHouseLab, Me too! I'm still considering forcing a branch or two of my regenerated plant and making some beans of my own...she's just now starting to flower..
@DrGreenbud, Dude...that's maybe the best smoke report I've ever read!
I'm so stoked to only be a week away from some really crazy brain vibrations in the left part of my cerebral brain!!!😬
