Growing normally. I had always good results by past with dinafem (critical+,Moby dick, dinachem, gorilla); never had pests or mould problems instead other seeds (RQS). I hope this famous sativa will make the same 🤞🏼
Nice and robust phenotype. I grow Dinafem photo periodic strains outdoor since many years, I’ve always beautiful plants.
The General Hydroponics combo is really easy to used: work Good 👍🏼
Great strain. The problem is the stretch and the vigorous growth 😁. Good reaction to the topping: the plant have a good form.
I cooked a preparation to protect the plant against aphids: mashing tomatoes leaves + distilled water, wait 24h, filter and spray on the whole plant.
Really hot temperature this days; better resistance than the other plant. The stretch is stabilized.
Lot of ramifications grow inside the space between the two main branches. With topping and LST the plant enlarged and get bushy
Day 87: pulverized the mix prepared 2 weeks ago : apichi (garlic/pepper/chili) for red spiders preventing .
Vaporized on plant a solution based on tomato leaves extract…aphids prevention…
Prepared the watering system: Blumat Classic XL for few day’s autonomy.
Added light Mix Plagron and super guano(TopCrop) in the pot.
Added aromatic plants, repelling species around the culture: mint and basil against whitefly
, red spider mit, thrips, aphids, ants.
After 11 days leaving plants alone….Automatic watering Blumat with 2 clay sticks (1 XL) and 5L water reserved, ventilation programmed All the geographic area was in “red code” heatwave; day air temperatures 40 degrees, 25 at night during 1 week. One manual watering (by friend) middle week…
The Strawberry Amnesia shown a very good resistance to the heat wave, consuming near to the 5L. Root’s developed a dense root system around the clay cones.
I returned at time…the flowering will started soon….😎
Strong, healthy, vigorous: Strawberry Amnesia is ending the vegetative period in a positive way. The plant have a beautiful sativa morphology: long and dynamic stretching, dark and deep green. One more robust strain by Dinafem; surviving heat wave, fighting pests or vermin, topping x 2 ok….
Happy to grow this plant but it need 3 months minimum for a complete flowering process…😑🧐
this Amesia stopped the vertical stretching few days ago and wait for the goog moment to start flowering. The plant is ready: vigorous, healthy, with solid branches. Need more water this days and next week start a new heat wave: problem of extreme hot temperatures, vermin and insects proliferation. Sprayed a solution of neem Oil to protect this beautiful plant.
Good resistance to the 3rd heat wave; day temperature: 38 degrees and hot nights too. Just minimum watering by Blumat system (clay cones).
Stil preflowering….the harvest will be late: may be end October; this plant need around 10 weeks flowering.
Finishing some BioBizz nutrients. After 140 days growing in a 17L pot, the soil is no longer rich and the plant must have a good nutrition.
Beautiful plant…no more problems caused by heat. Temperatures are now adequate with an augmentation of humidity after big rain storms. May be it’s The first real flowering week for this late sativa.
End August, this Sativa will not be ready before end October…the greenhouse should protect the plant against humidity but it’s just 10 hours daylight duration at the end of October.
This harvest has a particular importance this year: the price of electricity is exploding all over Europe…electricity could be cut a few hours every week or days…may be growing indoor will be impossible for a long period…
Defoliation for this bushy plant: better for light and more easy to inspect branches, nodes and leaves, searching for some mealybugs or other little bastards. Perfect Weather conditions for this September beginning: sun, high day temperatures, average temperatures and humidity at night. Canna nutrients seems working good.
Put some guano bat in powder for helping soil after 25 weeks of growth.
Flowering slowly…
The plant is now exposed to a green caterpillar attack. I found, grabbed and killed some of those little hungry things eating leaves. Situation is under control for the moment; daily diagnostic and elimination of the intruders. I sprayed my infusion of pepper, chili, garlic and alcohol but it’s ineffective and I burn some flowers on an other plant using this product ( maybe a bad interaction with sun) so I don’t want to use this technique so much times. I order Neem Oil and pyrethrum (not sure to use it: seems strong).
I’m just afraid about the consequences of the caterpillar attack…last year I lost many branches infested by the botrytis: the grey mold.
I detected the infestation soon and I hope it don’t extend anymore.
Otherwise those first days of September are sunny, summer temperatures…
Continue watering with Canna Terra Flores. Simply to use and no signs of deficiency.
Week dedicate to hunt caterpillars; those are less interested by this plant. After a defoliation to prevent mold and diseases ( caterpillar dejections) and a treatment with Spruzit by Neudorff (spray), i found only 2 survivors this days. Maximum vigilance and attention required ; it’s probably 1 month or more till harvest.
Putted a tablespoon of Top Crop guano bat on top of the soil. Last slow nutrients pushed for ending the flowering.
This haze strain need a longer period of time to end flowering. Choosing Sativa dominant for outdoor multiply the possibility to have problems especially when summer ending. However this phenotype is really resistant.
Daylight 12h26
watering plant during week: 5 x 1L (+ canna terra Flores)
Healthy plant, no shocked after the successive insect attack and the treatments. Every blooming sites are now covered by numbers of little flowers. It’s probably the middle of the flowering period for this late Sativa.
Changed the nutrients to finish in an organic way: Top Max and BioBloom by BioBizz.
Lucky September: sun, around 26 degrees with fresh nights, no sun significant humidity. Daylight 12h03.
8 weeks flowering. This Sativa strain need time…the long branches are covered by plenty of flowers.
Good weather: sun, 25/27 degrees, low humidity, daylight 11h28.
Flushing till the beginning of the week for an harvest between the 17 and the 29 October (waning moon).
It’s Moore risky to grow Sativa strains in Atlantic climate. Harvesting late October multiply the chances to have problems. I’m vigilant about the last weeks. The botrytis ( grey mold) appeared on a branch, killing it directly. This problem is a consequence of the caterpillars infestation encouraged by Autumn humidity.
Harvest approach. A truth exemplary of Sativa strain with this recognizable flowering structure: numbers of dense and resinous flowers along tide branches; no really top buds.
Complete and mature fragrance compare to the previous weeks.
The whole plant start turning yellow, the ending life cycle process seems accelerating. -3 minutes of daylight/24h . Now 11h08 of daylight
Reduced the watering to the minimum: water ph 6.3.
Good weather conditions, 28 degrees, just rare rain episodes and a low humidity for a near mid October. No trace of mold or botrytis infection.
Favorable configuration of the moon period in a few days: the waning cycle will help the drying process even if a part of the grower’s opinion prefers a full moon harvest.
16th October, day 209 post germination, 11 weeks flowering: time to cut. Flushing with rain water Ok. Plant passed 72h in a totally dark room (attic), no watering.
Whole plant is turning in yellow color, with rusty flowers and heady smell.
Harvesting during the waning moon period can contribute to a better drying process.
Happy to close this session: a little bit difficult with heat waves and parasites.
Strawberry Amnesia:
Amnesia (Super Silver Haze + Skunk #1) x Strawberry Couch(Indica Vermont + Haze)
Mostly Sativa
Dinafem recommendation: 70 days Flo
Started April 18 - Flo around August 7 to 15 - Harvest October 17 (30 weeks/11 weeks flo)
Result:
unknown wet bud weight because I dry the entire plant , didn’t cutting it in pieces. After 2 weeks hanging in a dark and ventilated attic, I keep 63g of dry flowers
100g would be better: a symbolic stage. But the session is complete and give an high quality final product.
With a 17L pot, the objective was to grow a outdoor Sativa in a medium/small size with an harvest before end October. The result is a big satisfaction after growing this haze strain: robust, esthetic, productive with a typical Sativa touch. The smoke test will be interesting.
Grow resume
Started the germination soon in Spring (Mars 21), helped by CFL 300w during the first weeks to have over 15h of light.
The growing process was normal and dynamic: changing 2 times for a bigger pot and did 2 topping to control the size during the vegetative period. I obtained a bushy plant with long branches and deep green colored. Tallest plant of the session, it show a good resistance to the successive heat waves with a minimum watering.
the 3 Pack General Hydroponic Flora series worked good, easy to used.
Flowering engaged late in August. This period was a long and continue fight against parasites. Heat was a propitious weather condition for insect infestation: Mealybugs, caterpillars, aphids. Lot of organic and manual treatments on plant, introduction of natural predators to eradicate the aggressors. Finally the flowering cycle wasn’t perturbed and the branches were finally covered by plenty of little dense and smelly flowers after a few weeks.
Canna Terra Flores to initiate the flowering cycle, guano bats middle flo and BioBizz organic nutrients for end’s feeding.
Conclusion:
growing Sativa outdoor in oceanic climate is a risky choice: plant size, late harvest…This haze strain by Dinafem is a good choice, have a good potential to be grown in this type of geographic area: flowering around 10 weeks, harvesting mid October, good resistance to parasites and mold.
It’s a good looking and particular plant in the garden.
May be could have a better yield with using LST and bigger pot.
