TommyBVRSA75 A new season...new expectations. Some Kush family strain type and a new proposal on fertilizers, this time with Hesi as the main guest. For the first time as well i developed a couple of data the small plantulas on Jiffy peats after the thriving of seeds on paper towels as always. My intention develop a little the plantulas on exterior sunlight to give them strengh for the first week stress due to the change of watering and fertilizer changes. Two different strains, a pure netherlandese lab such as Barney and a new chance to the spaniards of Delicious Seeds, and to this Critical Jack Herer (mostly to the "father" the classical Critical Bilbo Kush ...one of the most amazing stuff that i ever taste...let's see how this "Son" is going to behave. The reviews talk about strong yelds, so in a couple of weeks i will have to check if a LST is needed. New material as well on the grows, such as a backup TLED 26 w Blooming to cover spaces where i think that my Phytoled NX2 200 fail on the last season (poor coverage on the rear of the grow tent) and ...as you can see, two brand new airpots of 9 l. As always, big Hugh for all the friends and Jah God on command as always, seedling the seeds of peace, harmony and understanding over mankind joint togheter on out heaveanly plant.

TommyBVRSA75 The week of transitioning to the airpots went smoothly. There was a need to balance the moisture levels of the substrate, as I still had no idea how the water drains through the holes of the airpot pots. The LED coverage calculations have been the best, and the growth spurt at the beginning of the vegetative stage is visible. The perfect fertilization plan combines the organic BioGrow and Atami's NRGRoot C with HESI's mineral TNT. As an additional balance, the Bio Nova XCel and BnZym for enzymes and humics, and of course, starting from the earliest dates, the endorhizomatic structure so that we start the "house" from the pillars and have a root that can withstand anything - a perfect root from day 1 equals no fungal proliferation and the correct integration of water and nutrients. I was very curious to understand how Hesi would combine a medium equation of mineral with organic without a single sign of overfert. In the Critical Jack Herer, the primary leaves came out round, which may always correspond to not-so-good stabilization of its genetics, and I hope it doesn't translate to not-so-good final results. As for the external factors, they are still in the south of the Iberian Peninsula, the houses are very hot inside even though summer has already ended. Temperatures in the grow are still between 28ºC maximum and 25ºC minimum, with relative humidity staying around 40 to 50%, so we hope for the first rains after summer to bring coolness and more humidity, and in the meantime, using a vaporizer in the spaces and keeping the closure open with fans and extractor running at full blast. The evolution of the seedling has been very solid, and by the second week, the vegetative outline is already very clear. TommyBVRSA75 What to say on week 3? Just comparing photos between last week to the presente one. I am amazed with the combination of this two fertilizers - Hesi TNT (mineral); Bio Grow Biobizz(organic) and a supply such as Atami NRG Roots C. The development day by day is just amazing. As normally my Led set - Phytolite Resina NX2 200 plus the TLED 26w Blooming support, with the normal Purple Spectrum in the first weeks and due to the short blue spectrum, made the plants seem splattered and despite of normally developing leafs, the plant grows with a little internodal space, but by my experience during the fifth week normally the vertical grow literally explodes and from the 5th up to 7th week the plants almost triple their height, passing from around 20 to 70cms or more. During the next two weeks and according to the growth in the last week, i will apply almost certainly LST, because it os notorious mainly on the Strawberry Cheesecake strain, that with the Hesi TNT nitrogen supply the plant will be literally a little Monster (with much more than 1.20 m height). For my surprise the Critical Jack Herrer that i expect to be taller at the moment is the shorter one. So far no problems with overwatering or overfert and the "ladies" are developing solidly and "selling health". Other item that is getting along to the sucess is the climate at this season of year (fall) in Southern Portugal: steady temperature between day and night time (26 day and 23 night) and a perfect amount of humidity from 40 to 50%. Great...and merrily happy trusting as always on Jah God as my commander.

TommyBVRSA75 Evaluation entry week 4 (22 days from seedling germination). Growth is fantastic in every way. The Indica phenotypes are clearly expressed throughout the line, which clearly indicates that the Critical Jack Herer Auto from Delicious Seeds is contrary to what led me to choose this strain, which would be its advertised Sativa genetics. The Strawberry Cheesecake from Barney, due to its "family," also shows its Indica ancestry (despite its 25% "Sativa blood") and something in its strong smell, for the 22 days of development, captures that characteristic Sativa trait. So here I leave this critical note to my friends at Delicious Seeds and how this strain - which here on GrowDiaries has had very few fellow growers opting for this grow - still shows a significant absence of how the Critical Jack Herer Automatic from our "Valencian" friends manifests. So I leave this important note to Delicious Seeds, who present such beautiful genetics in their strains - both in autos and photoperiods - that this strain advertised as a Sativa Auto has revealed itself to be a "very clear" Indica, which goes against many of the "Jack Herer" from most seed producers in the market who work with this strain, based on quality and differentiation in its strong Sativa character. What a shame... so much shame... that in this grow we ended up with a phenotype completely opposite to what was expected. It "feeds" my curiosity to try to know what "weed" will come from this Jack Herer "Indica" and if what I was looking for in the grow - precisely that psychedelic smoke that you can only find in a wonderful Sativa and with the THC levels that Delicious Seeds attributes in its description to its Critical Jack (hovering around 22%) - and finally, to verify what this "yield" will bring us, as a total Indica (compact, with a high that will surely make it a "night" smoke without risking the "narcotic" bomb that seems to be coming. Partially, I consider it, in advance, a tremendous disappointment and only out of the enormous respect I have for each of my new grows, it leads me to continue with Delicious's Jack "Indica" until the final result, despite everything. But I will write to my friends at Delicious, a detailed report, with photos and even a final sample, of what their "mutated" phenotypically Critical Jack Herer will be, so they can continue working on it, with the quality that is usually their "seal." As for the technical aspects of the "grows," I am amazed by the results of the variables I have introduced in my autumn season. First outstanding record, the "airpots"... simply incredible, for the optimal water management in the system and because with smaller volumes than normal pots or "smart" recyclable fabric pots. With these "airpots," excessive watering cannot occur, and the first thing to "play" with is the gentle and dispersed way of providing water to the surface of the substrate, so that the water moistens the substrate without draining excessively. If there is excess water not absorbed by the root system and it stays in the base plate, it is possible (and I have a small pump that suctions that excess water) to put it back in the disperser and reuse it, with almost perfect recycling of water and nutrients. You just have to keep in mind the EC and the PPM amount to avoid under or over-application of fertilizers/stimulants in the waterings. So from now on, I will no longer use any pots other than the "airpots," and the incredible development of the vegetative stage of my grows this season is undoubtedly related to these "future" pots. Then, as I mentioned in the last entry of my diary, I am very happy with the base nutrition formula I have programmed for this season. Hesi TNT as a very effective mineral fertilizer, to which I add the organic fertilization from Bio-Grow by Biobizz and as support for root growth with Atami NRG Roots-C. This formula for "vegetative" gives the balance that I believe is total, and its good result is also produced by the basic work of substrate preparation that I do. My substrate could be based solely on Canna soil, which is already almost perfect in its composition, but personally, I prefer to "produce" my soil with the characteristics that interest me most according to the type of grow desired. My "championship" soil is made with a base of prepared Canna soil (with teak, coconut fibers, and some perlite) to which I add bat guano in the right amount; and also add just the right amount of perlite and vermiculite. Personally, I don't want any All In or factory-prepared mixes with organic matter, not even as a gift. So my soil is where everything starts, and feeling it mixed with my hands in the amounts I deem appropriate is the secret to my results. To this soil that I prepare, after and with the seedling in it, begins what I call the "grow alchemy." Without the correct support of endo and exo mycorrhizae, having quality grows is a lottery, and I explain it in the simplest way. In my opinion, mycorrhizae are the "cements" of plants with "iron" health, and that's because mycorrhizae have such varied and important functions that you can't treat them as something secondary or dispensable. A root system developed with mycorrhizal support is a system that has optimized water absorption, a system that will not over-absorb nitrogen excessively, a system that will make potassium and phosphorus absorption more efficient, and a system that will convert nutrients into sugars and energy much more easily. So mycorrhizae and the secondary root system they emulate allow the medium to saturate with elements that are not necessary for the grow and create barriers that isolate the true primary roots from fungi, viruses, and pathogens in general. A grow with mycorrhizae will very rarely become oversaturated with water, very rarely rot roots, or develop mildew, powdery mildew, botrytis, or bacteria like Pseudomonas or Pumilus. A system with mycorrhizae will not need CalMag supplements and other trace element catalysts. In my grow mediums, I usually add, yes, two supplements from the beginning, from the Bio Nova brand. One that has been there since day 1 and that I even added after the flush is BnZym, which is an enzymatic supplement that consists, in its composition, in addition to enzymes, of catecholamines, humic acids, and nutrient catalysts. What this indispensable product does, through enzymatic action, is, for example, to break down nutrients that accumulate and that the root system cannot eliminate. Bn Zym has the ability to convert excess nutrients like nitrogen into sugars that are degradable by the plant. Nitrogen, when in excess during flowering, has the opposite effect on the development and hardening of buds. Bn Zym eliminates the excess nutrients, converting through synthesis, loads of compounds into sugars, and the plant will use those sugars as "fuel" for its sustainable growth. Another Bio Nova product that is always part of my "cocktail" is the Bn X Cel stimulator. Not as indispensable, in my opinion, as the BN Zym, the X Cel has a very important action in photosynthesis and is very important for the production of cellulose in plant cell walls. The X Cel, for example, has an action that becomes important in the growth of the grow. With it, there is thickening of stems, leaf development, and significant increases in yield and bud size. This action is very important because a vegetative stage that results in fragile branches and stems will not produce large and hard buds, and if the buds develop too much for this structure of fragile stems. So here I explain the logic associated with what I consider the optimal vegetative stage that my grows reflect in these three weeks of growth. I hope this long entry in my diary is very useful to the fellow growers who accompany me, as these 'classes' will serve as a basis for you to make correct decisions and avoid the normal mistakes that we all, at first, make. And yes, it is very important that we always make mistakes because with them, with humility and trying to improve every day, we perfect ourselves. In the next entries of the diary, I will seek to explain what I will do in the particular of flowering. The two grows will have different fertilizations (with different brands and thus, also significant differences in flowering growth and final results). TommyBVRSA75 Solid growing on week 4/5 - end of vegetative phase and starting flowering on Strawberry Cheesecake and pre-flowering on Critical Jack Herer. Nature has revealed itself on strange ways due to the fact that the Strawberry strain should reveal a strong Indica pheno, but expressed in the last leafs set started to show mostly of the 25% Sativa ascendence as main pheno and the Critical Jack Here that sould be an almost full Sativa strain reveal its full Indica pheno. Change ways but nature is always sovereign on its expression and i have now changed ways on the expected growth phenos. As you can see the Strawberry strain start to reveal a disperse and long branching and the Critical Jack Herer grows as a little compact "bonsai" despite of the apply on both grows, LST clipe allowing to the light entrance on the inner parts of the plants. I normally use these clips, because they allow a LST with lesser riso of break branches and set them on unnatural ways. First the clips are uses on the primary leafs and when the branches are fully splitted, normally i change the clips to the secondary branches set allowing to form larger flowers over the full plant and not only according to the main cola. I have made the decision of having two different fertilizer plans according to each strain. Despite of the vegetative phase, the fertilizing plan was common, now on the flowering phase the Strawberry strain will follow the Hesi settings and the Critical Jack Herer will follow a Atami setting using both NRG sets and on the last weeks the Atami B'Cuzz series will complete the process. Meanwhile and for both of the strains the stimulators and enzime settings of Bionova will supply the needs of both grows.

TommyBVRSA75 Growth explosion in the Strawberry Cheesecake strain, and it makes me reflect on what's happening with this strain from Barney's in 2022. What's going on with this strain? Unstable genetics? Maybe?!?... First reflection, the strain is from this year, and according to the description, we should have a ratio of 75 Indica/25 Sativa, meaning that the Indica expression would be likely, but as I've seen in other diaries from fellow growers, the phenotypic variability is proving to be enormous, between hybridization, Sativas, and of course, the expected Indicas... well, it's very clear, and considering that there's evidently some hybridism, what stands out in its structure in my grow is that we have a Sativa with dispersed and elongated branching, and this phenotypic aspect currently gives us a grow of almost 50 cm (the Strawberry from Barney's), in contrast to the second grow of the season, where with just over 30 cm, the Critical Jack Herer Auto from Delicious Seeds has also surprised me, and I will explain that later. Regarding the Strawberry Cheesecake, let's look at the characteristics of our grow from two perspectives: 1- a recessive Sativa genetic manifesting throughout the line, resulting in a dispersed growth with elongated branches, and only the shape of the leaves hasn't been aggressively "Sativa"; 2 - the action of Hesi products, which I hadn't worked with before, and they are performing well due to the relative Nitrogen contributions in the products from this Dutch producer... regarding this point, I've analyzed the formulas of Hesi products, and it's very evident to note the Nitrogen ratio in the various products of the plan (TNT - major Nitrogen contribution directed to the vegetative period; Blossom - as a boost at the beginning of flowering with a significant amount of Nitrogen support; Phosphorous - what will be the PK supplement (in other manufacturers) designed to complement flowering in the seventh week, combined with the already mentioned Blossom compound and also the necessary reference to intermediate stimulators: the initial Roots, which in our grows has been replaced by a root development and branching agent that I believe to be more effective and of higher quality, the Atami NRG Roots-C C; the Super Boost where a variable formula of humic compounds, micro and macro nutrients, algae substrates, used at the beginning of the grow and then during flowering over two weeks has a "growth explosion" function and also presents a considerable amount of Nitrogen; and to finish, the "product X" from the line - the SuperVit - with a strong composition of macro and micro nutrients, colloids, enzymes, vitamins, and sugars (all in a very high concentration according to Hesi, which has a usage reference of just a small drop for 5 liters and is used once a week, although in my proportional watering with 0.75l per plant per day, once a week I add the infamous "drop" that won't harm the grows, and this "SuperVit" is, in my modest opinion, a "snake oil" that is at the very least, quite dubious in terms of effectiveness... and I would believe it if the growth of the Jack Herer strain were the same as that of the Strawberry... and we'll see what's happening with my "Jack" grow)... so, without a doubt, Hesi is a fertilizer manufacturer whose watering and soil substrate fertilization plan (because they have differentiated compounds for Coco and Hydroponics) includes a very considerable proportion of Nitrogen, and that contributes, without a doubt, to what has happened in the vegetative stage of the strain I'm pushing with Hesi, and it's evident that the growth has "exploded" not only due to the phenotypic expression of a genetics that Barney's will still have to refine with a few more "work generations." So, if we add a Sativa expression to a fertilization/stimulation plan that provides a significant percentage of Nitrogen for both the vegetative and pre-flowering stages, we will have on our hands the problem I see looming with vertical growth, which at this moment, I can't specify when it will reach its peak and stabilize. Because at this rate, we'll soon have a real "tree" in a grow cabinet, and that's a big problem, because if we have, as I currently do, two grows - one that's almost a "tree" and another leaning towards "bonsai," how will we manage such important things as the distance from the LED light to the top of the plant and how we will deal with the competition for light, with the "bonsai" grow in the shadow of the "little tree" we've drawn in the "lottery." We will have to come up with some ideas very quickly, and that's for sure... Let's see... and why have I been revealing what, on the contrary, has happened with our second strain - the Critical Jack Herer from Delicious Seeds. Well... Up until the third week, and because my Phytolite LED set has a very short blue spectrum, the grows until that week, in vegetative, always tend to have a flattened appearance, with very close internodes and a tremendous leaf density in a tiny area. No major problems, as this is a characteristic of my LED equipment, and it's not time to panic when at the third/fourth week, we have very limited vertical growth, and because I know that generally, towards the end of the fourth week, at the beginning of pre-flowering in "automatics," almost as if by magic, the grows start to take size and develop naturally, and that, as always happens, has occurred again this season, but the Critical Jack Herer, which was advertised as a full Sativa and that's why I decided to plant it this season, has taken on a phenotype that couldn't be more Indica... meaning, another genetic that hasn't turned out as it should, and what a "surprise," more than just an Indica, I've gotten the most compact grow I remember since I started planting the most beautiful plant in the Universe years ago, and my "Jack," which I love to smoke for its diesel and earthy smoke and airy buds. So, an Indica phenotype (freaking awesome)... a "Bonsai" plant (I'm not going to call it "dwarf" to avoid offending it), with internodes almost overlapping each other, with an abundance of leaves (although in the last few days, I'm already seeing the most recent leaves with more joy and something in its "hybrid face" with some Sativa leaves (let's see how they behave with the onset of flowering). In summary, and because this diary is getting long and I don't want to bother you too much... specifically, at this moment, the strains present almost 20 cm of difference in their vertical development; more due to the leaves than the structure, we are starting to have hybrid characteristics, although nature and the poorly developed genetics have produced phenotypes different from what the "seed banks" have sold us, leading us to lean towards this or that strain when we start the grows. To finish with the Bonsai Jack Herer, we are feeding it with ATAMI NRG fertilization - we are now on Bloom C, which with its very specific PK will guarantee solid flower growth, and where we will finish with the other "branding" of Atami products in the final weeks, giving it the B'Cuzz supply with its very high PK percentage to make the buds rock-solid... and the million-dollar question "in the end, what buds will come from an "Indica" Jack Herer???". I will pay to see the end of this novel... for sure. Hahahaha.... In the meantime, and for sure, we will continue both grows, in common, giving the stimulators and boosters to optimize flowering and the final result of the "mutant" buds that I believe we will have in the end. Thus, every ten days, and already in its second application, we have done foliar watering with Delta 9 from Cannabiogen (never miss Delta 9...) and "in a moment," we continue as always giving the right amount with the "companions" Bionova that always go in my grows... the Bn Zym and the X Cel. (enzymes and growth and development stimulator during flowering) Alternating weeks, we have complemented the "cocktail," adding the excellent Bactobloom and once a week and half a small spoonful of mycorrhizae, which are synonymous with balance for the substrate and the system (as the roots are always the most important part of any quality plant and its final result). TommyBVRSA75 Well... as is visible, the ScroG solution and the multiplication of Bending Clips for LST have taken hold... a lot thanks to our friend Strawberry Cheesecake Auto, what a little tree we’ve been lucky to have... the buds in seven weeks are almost a meter tall, and let’s see when the vertical growth stabilizes. I sincerely ask God Jah to put a stop to this crazy growth once and for all, and for example, for the Critical Jack Herer to gain some size, which is already reaching almost 60 cm at its peak, but next to its companion, if we compare them, it’s a poor little dwarf (but wonderful in its bushy phenotype with short branches and tons of leaves). The evolution of the strains in the last nine days has been interesting, and I’ll explain. I talked to you about the inverse phenotypes that the producers' descriptions pointed out to us. So in the last few days, the Sativa phenotypic characteristics are revealing themselves in a big way in both... one especially for its thin structure and fine branches with huge internodes, and the other shorter but dense, and its recent leaves leave no doubt that we have a Sativa despite its very significant hybridism - the Critical Jack Herer is always a Sativa even though its first month and vegetative stage pointed to an Indica that contradicted what our friends at Delicious had informed us... the Strawberry, yes, had greater Indica potential, but here the genetics took the lead, and its expression of recessive phenotype dictated its rules. Sativa... ultra Sativa and nothing but Sativa... a tree that I hope the flowering will put a brake on vertical growth. The ScroG, which I don’t particularly like, has imposed itself as a necessity... to slow down if we can the buds that threatened to reach outer space and distribute the growth energy across the different branches, and even so, we can’t overlook the need for a trimming in a few weeks, if we don’t stop this crazy growth. We’ve put the Strawberry on a Zero Nitrogen diet since we no longer need it to keep developing so that this grow doesn’t turn into a nightmare. Now it’s visible at the start of flowering, and I’m already preparing the trellises and guide strings to support the buds that if they develop like in the diaries of other companions with long and thin branches, we’ll have a support problem in the buds that are already peeking over the horizon of the ScroG. Contrary to what I had planned in fertilization and giving Strawberry the HESI plan and Critical Jack the Atami plan, I opted to alternate each week the contribution from each brand... so the common Bionova nutrients are maintained for each of the grows, as the stimulators and Bactobloom and HESI Boost are being given twice a week, alternating, and Delta 9 is divided between fertigation and leaf watering every ten days. In fertilization, if this week we give Strawberry the HESI Bloom+Phosphorus Plus combo; to Critical Jack we give Atami, and in the following week, we switch brands for each of the grows... Reminder for fellow growers... HESI, affordable price, honest products in their compositions but... yes but... Nitrogen in a quantity that I think is high for their flowering and stimulation products... if their TNT for vegetative is clearly a "bomb" of Nitrogen that gives the results it has given me in the Strawberry... so, the "buddy" TNT is perfect if you want trees in your grows... vegetative growth like crazy with very healthy growth but incredible dimensions, and then when you get to flowering, their stimulators like Boost, Super Vit, but especially the flowering combo (Bloom+Phosphorous Plus) have a considerable amount of Nitrogen, which delays the start of flowering and we keep pushing buds towards outer space. With Atami, things are more balanced and simple, the NRG Bloom C with its PK 27-31 is more based on its ratio of Phosphorus and Potassium, and its Nitrogen becomes residual, making growth more harmonious, but it also takes time to give the "starting shot" in the flowering phase... so the Solomon-like decision has been to intersperse the contributions from each of the brands to the grows... this week, grow A nutrient B, and the following week to the same grow A we put the other different nutrient, and we’ll keep making this change at a rate of one week until the final flush, and with that, in the last days and with a delay that had me impatient, finally the flowering is now visible in each of the grows, and the Critical Jack Herer that we had "dwarf" has turned into a very respectable lady. And to finish, as I mentioned, I had, due to the temperatures and relative humidity of this time of year, the forecast for the start of flowering until day 25 of the grow, and in the end, the pre-flowering and initial flowering stages started around day 35... so... we are ten days behind due to this need to adapt fertilization plans, due to the application of ScroG, and especially because the last 12 days have given us a relative humidity around 80%, and I have a policy that I’ve had for a long time, which is not to put humidity suppressors in the grow room, because experience tells me that if there’s no problem trying to increase humidity when it’s low, when it’s high, the humidity suppression machines are very negative for the plants, causing dryness in the substrate impacting the branches, leaves, and especially in the flowers and their resin. Next week, another diary entry, giving my fellow growers indications about the progress of the automatic season Autumn 2022... Recordatorios futuros...primero, ni bueno ó malo, ni buenísimo ni terrible, solo y tan solo, lo que las genéticas de los "semilleros" les apetece que tus grows vengan a resultar y os explico. No tengo la menor duda que la gente que trabaja en el desarrollo "semillero" son buenos profesionales. No tengo duda también que la gente que saca las fotos profesionales de unos cogollos que por su aspecto se comen, más que fumarselos, pero las genética en estos moviditos tiempos de ventas a lo alocado, casi no les da tiempo para apurarse una generación, cuanto más tener que poner en el mercado, cada año dos, tres, cuatro, sean cuántas sean las cepas para que puedas competir por ventas con tus rivales de negócio...se llama ley del capitalismo salvaje y ocurre en las semillas como ocurre en el plan de papillas para bebés...y en lo canábico tenemos lo que estás cepas insuficientemente desarrolladas al final terminan "regalando" a nosotros growers. En esto de las automáticas y si quieres lo bueno y lo cierto, ponte siempre en las fotoperiodicas si quieres calidad, por que las automáticas son una caja gigante de sorpresitas...de las Indicas que te salen Sativas, de las Sativas que te salen Indicas (al menos lo de la feminización si parece que es definitivo), pero los fenotipos de las automáticas son "loterías" que las hibridaciones te dan y punto. Como ya os he dicho en este diario veces sin cuenta, me han salido Sativas gigantes donde saldrían presuntamente Indicas (en una razón de 4 para 1) y me sale una Sativa con fenotipo híbrido tirando a Indica, con un "enano" compacto que con el paso de las semana, fue de presentar hojas Indicas a tener hojas Sativas, pero un carácter de planta compacta, sobrecargada de hojas y casi un "enano" atómico...por su parte, la referida Indica (de 4 a 1) me sale un árbol con metro y medio, ramas finas y internudos separados por medio metro y Sativa como la "copa de un pino" ...por lo cual si miráis mis fotos y mi espacio grow hay "codo con codo", un árbol Slender Man y el "enanito" atómico, que cara al futuro, no hay como anticipar que cogollos, que humo y que producción de secado, tendremos cuando esta locura termine. Me gusta tener control, sin que eso sea una psicosis, pero lo que no me gusta en absoluto, es NO tener ningún control sobre lo que estoy haciendo y la primera vez en mi vida de "grower" estoy como "un velero en el ojo del huracán" y si llegaremos a buen puerto?!? No se contestaros, compañeros y compañeras "growers"...crucemos los dedos para ver al final, lo que tendremos... Recordatorio número dos...los fertilizantes y la marca HESI...nunca había trabajado con ellos...un amigo me los recomendó y ahora estoy con una mano llena de dudas. Del día 1 en adelante, me pareció siempre que tenían algo más de Nitrógeno que lo que me gustaría. Seguro los grows están creciendo sin deficiencias, pero este tirón del "árbol" Strawberry Cheesecake Auto y el bonsai "enano" Critical Jack Herer, uno en altura y el otro en la exagerada cantidad de hojas, nos demuestran un "vegetativo" que ha tenido Nitrógeno "sobrado". Ahora en la floración me gustaría que el indicativo de fórmula me diera un claro PK 13 14, y no HESI para sustrato Tierra, te pone dos compuestos que se complementan - el Bloom y el Phosporous Plus (que se complementan en razón 2 de Bloom para 1 de Phosporous)y con ello que razón de compuesto para Protásio/Fósforo tenemos? Y si en cima, nos ponemos a hacer la análisis de las fórmulas del Blossom y del Phosporous Plus, hay un porcentaje de Nitrógeno en los dos, que no es depreciable. Los complementos HESI también tienen Nitrógeno en su composición, como el Boost ó el SuperVit y incluso en el inicial Roots que no hemos usado (cambiándolo al Atami NRG Roots C). Los refuerzos de estimulación y de equilibrio del medio que siempre he usado a los Bionova - BnZym y al XCel, no tienen Nitrógeno, por lo cual estoy testando el plan secundario del grow de floración, alternando en cada uno de los grows HESI y Atami. Una semana para el grow A - HESI Bloom + HESI Phosporous PLus y para el grow B - Atami NRG Bloom C + B'Cuzz Blossom Builder Liquid... A la semana siguiente, cambia la fórmula, dándole al A los compuestos del B y vice versa. Y siempre a los 10 días, 1 litro con fertirrigación con Delta 9 - medio litro a las hojas y cogollos y medio litro al sustrato. Las macetas, para recordatorio número tres, los Airpots con los cuales nunca había trabajado y la enseñanza primera de estos recipientes, que con ellas se convierte imposible de caer en sobre riega y que las raíces se desarrollan de lo más fuerte y saludable posible y si eso no bastará, el cuidado enorme que tengo en hacer mis grows con una base muy sólida de micorrizas, que siempre digo son los pilares fundamentales de una "casa" sin hongos, excesos de agua o fertilización ó que pueda ni en sueños pudrirse el sistema radicular asociado al sistema de hifas de las micorrizas...a los amigos siempre les doy el ejemplo que si un hongo de los más terribles te toca, con las micorrizas primero te mata las hifas(hilos) de las micorrizas y solo si lo dejas sin cuidarlo el hongo llegará al final a la raíz de la planta, además que las micorrizas hacen la regulación óptima de las cantidades de osmosis de agua y nutrientes que la planta le saca. Por lo cual, si los dos grows que llevamos en el día 50 de crecimiento, son esta verdadera locura que podéis mirar en las fotos, me decantó más que la genética y algún sobre aporte de Nitrogeno han sido responsables por esta tremenda variación entre la forma cómo estás cepas se han desarrollado. Y si...al final, se confirmó me recelo por ver que en GrowDiaries no existían más que dos diários de la Critical Jack Herer Auto de Delicious Seeds y que pocas referencias he tenido para comparar como iba a crecer este grow y si estoy haciendo "Historia" en diarios de esta cepa, lo que saldrá al final es una incógnita que esperemos sea una buena sorpresa, por que de momento, no estoy demasiado animado con lo que a diario voy haciendo registro. Punto, que este diario ya está casi tan grande como mi árbol Strawberry Cheesecake. A los hermanos growers, con las gracias del Dios Jah, siguiendo fuertes y sabios con la más bella planta del Universo y las enseñanzas de paz, harmonia y concordia entre hombres y naturaleza. TommyBVRSA75 Well... week 10 and now it's very visible, heading into the final stretch, and just as I had planned, we’re going for the flush around week 14/15 and we’ll only give it a long flush because the enzymes from BnZym help balance the things we’re adding, converting Nitrogens, Phosphors, and Potassiums into sugars and colloids. As for the tree that my friends from Barney Farm gifted me this season with their Strawberry Cheesecake, which was supposed to turn into an Indica, but from the photos and previous entries in the diary, it turned out to be a Sativa "almost outdoor." Even with the ScroG, the last few weeks have been a "Tetris game," twisting, adjusting Supercroppings with plastic clips, and pulling the branches from unnatural positions of the straps of my LED set and changing the positions of the TLED to achieve possible balance in branches with 1.50 m. What makes me happy for now is that the "snowball" buds typical of Sativas, with this light balance game, have tended to come closer together. The Critical Jack Herer from Delicious has also evolved with my 46w support LED, which being very weak in its PPFD, has managed to reach nearly 1000 ūmol in areas where the main LED couldn't give more than 300/400, and even with the worst support LED in the universe, we've managed to bring the Critical forward, even though it’s clear that the harvest from this grow will be much lower than the Strawberry. Immediate reminder: at the end of this season, I will order another TLED Blooming so that I can have them in every corner of the cabinet and the development is equal. From what we have in the harvest outline at the moment, we will surely have a very high yield in the Strawberry, which will "pay" partly for the immense frustration I’ve had this season with the "crappy phenotypes damn it" that I’ve gotten. For now, plans are already set for the beginning of February... the Spring 2023 season will have a guest star... I’ll let you guess if you dare... first and definitely, it will be a photoperiodic (which means the autos will be "out of work" until summer) and the photoperiodic I have planned is a strain that I’m sure of its genetics, not only because of the extremely high quality of smoke it has, but also because if it weren't, I wouldn't be starting a longer season with just one grow, super productive. As for this autumn season, I’m very clear about it; I will write two emails: one to my friends at Barney Farm and another to my friends at Delicious Seeds, and if they gift me a good LED set and a cabinet with four times the area I have right now, 0.80m², I’m signing up to become one of their strain development partners, and I’m sure I’ll take as long as necessary, but when the catalogs inform customers that we’re going to sell Indicas, they will be Indicas and Sativas if that’s the case... because what happened to me is not something to be happy or satisfied about, and no matter how many LST, toppings, Supercroppings, Scrogs, and other training techniques we have to do to control growth, when you get a Strawberry Cheesecake like the one I got, even if I could turn the pot upside down, I couldn't avoid what the Sativa phenotype that came out (in a hoped ratio of 3 Indica: 1 Sativa) would be like. But as nature and God Jah are perfect and sovereign in their decisions, they must have gifted me the two "packages" that this infamous autumn season has given me. TommyBVRSA75 Nature in its most beautiful forms... after all the problems that a vegetative "crazy" phase gave us with very uneven growth between the two strains being cultivated, the first days of lower temperatures have contributed to a very scattered flowering in the early stages of flower differentiation, culminating in buds that tend to stick together and the unfounded fears of "snowflake" buds due to the very scattered structure of the internodes that the vegetative phase had "drawn." Now we have beautiful, hard buds with precious nuances. The "Sativa fingers" are covered in "sugar," and even though the two strains aren't the most aromatic (I've had strains that smelled from the street, and that's a problem... the two strains being cultivated aren't absurdly aromatic, but their smell identifies the "pine" from their kush ancestors, and in Barney's strain, which is supposed to lean towards a "strawberry cake," there's something reminiscent of mango/orange in its grounds, so something magical is going to happen when it's cured, and it promises a lot when in a month and a half we talk about pure and hard "smoke." Barney's strain already has "that something" that anticipates very clear "hits" of Sativa smoke, the kind that takes you to the "land of smiles and good vibes," and I'm sure it will be a smoke that my friends and I will enjoy "a blast." From my experience with the still green terpene profile, I understand very early on what we're going to have, and the "headaches" from its crazy growth in the vegetative phase, which didn't stop in its first weeks of flowering... so from an early age, giving it LST, pulling and crossing branches, doing supercropping over supercropping (I never thought some branches could hold knots on knots), and weaving it into a ScroG that now seems to me "the pinnacle of technique perfection"... so growing this "tree" with control has perhaps been one of the most complex growth challenges I've faced in my "grower" career. And of course, I've had a plant that, in its very particular genetic development, has given me "thanks" raised to the millionth power for the very timely defoliation and the "Lollipop" at its base has also played its part in this almost perfect development of buds that fill your senses... Let's talk now about the "little one" and the growth challenge it also represents... the Critical Jack Herer, a strain that here on GrowDiaries has only two diaries in the years it's been in the Delicious Seeds catalog. What can I say about this hybrid that could serve as a rule for anyone wanting to grow it?!? Well, it would be a "Sativa in its main characteristics, but as a hybrid, it's perplexing. The phenotype I've got is of a short plant, predominantly Sativa in its leaves, with a very dark green and a very large number of leaves, giving it a compact appearance with short internodes leaning towards "Indica." In its growth, there are very important things that Delicious will have to intervene in its genetics quickly... for example, during flowering, the presence of trifoliate leaves is very visible (meaning there's an incomplete genetics where the "ruderalis" emergence should be much less present at this phase of the plant). Then, it's very evident that despite its very compact leaf profile, its low productivity is clear, and that gives the "grower" the impression that if the phenotype I've got is the most repeated, this strain will end up being unattractive, because even being an auto, it becomes clear that it's not one of the fastest autos in its cycle, and its genetic imperfection, both in height and especially in productivity and in those undesirable characteristics like the trifoliate leaves I mentioned, will lead Delicious to eventually leave it in the "forgotten closet" due to a breakdown in its pursuit. If the photoperiodic Jack Herer is a milestone and a classic in its wonderful quality, its fast version is, until seen, a failure. I won't doubt the quality of smoke that, due to its still un-dried and un-cured smell, already promises a lot, but the quantity I will obtain will surely make this harvest a "relic" that I will reserve for special occasions, and what I will take away from the growth experience goes through the huge contradictions that the genetics of this Critical Jack Herer Automatic has revealed. And when we get into a "grow," we like what we obtain to reflect what the brand's description promises us. It is known that in the end, nature has its wisdom, and no matter how much "juice" of fertilizers, stimulants, adjustments of light, temperature, and humidity we apply, if a "grow" due to its genetics tells us a clear "NO," it's a "NO," and neither "MAYBE" nor "YES" if I make myself understood... I have a lot of Delicious varieties, from photoperiodics like their Sugar Black Roses, their Northern Lights Blue, or their outstanding Bay Burger... or other "fast" ones like their Early Version Lord Kush, La Diva, El Diábolo, and it's been a long time since my friends at Delicious have been my companions in this "growing" journey, and perhaps because I know their way and care to always please the customer, as a "grower" of theirs, I leave them a clear message about their Critical Jack Herer Automatic, and my message is that to care for the customer, they should leave this strain for now or use it to develop it or as material for generations of a new automatic that can add to the Jack Herer smoke the much-desired productivity... In short... walking towards the final dates, the Strawberry has about 20 days left until the final flush, and for the Critical, I’ll give it up to a month of full PK and lights (crossing my 200w focus with the support of 46w and two PLED 26w 2100k for flowering and crossing my fingers that the buds can still "bulk up"... but being clear that where there are no floral hints, buds cannot be born. Peace, harmony, and concord among men with the most beautiful plant in the universe and with God Jah commanding in His magnanimous wisdom our "grows." ONE LOVE...

TommyBVRSA75 What to say this week?!? Well, I'm leaving you a 4K High Definition video that will let you see the beautiful aspects that have developed in the last 10 days. The first highlight is the very high amount I've estimated to have so far, which could be almost 350g wet. It's very simple, the Sativa tree designed with the ScroG has had fantastic growth, connecting internodes that had a space that didn't suggest the buds would join together. The strain description referred to the Strawberry Cheesecake Autoflowering from Barney's as a "cultivar" with a yield/m² potential exceeding 600g/m², and the math of my grow tent clearly tells us that we have an area of 0.7 m², so the productivity calculation shows us that we will definitely be above expectations. With the structure of the buds designed through supercropping and Scrog, at least 6 colas have formed, each about 30 cm long, with a thickness almost like a narrow drink can, and you can really see what I'm talking about in the video. Then, on an alternative note, the Critical Jack Herer from Delicious Seeds has also progressed, but just barely. Both strains are phenomenal in terms of the quality of their terpenes, and the sugar leaves and resin percentage are very high... even though, as I mentioned in my last diary entry, neither strain is the most aromatic, and that doesn't represent a problem... or maybe if they smelled a lot, then we would have a problem that any grower might face if Skunk, Haze, Cheese, or Sours families show up to "grow." From my ample experience, when we start drying in the net bag and lower the humidity in the room to an acceptable level for drying the buds (around 40%), we will definitely have a much more intense smell. At that time, because the cabinet and the drying net area are in the innermost room of my apartment, we will take precautions daily by burning a couple of incense sticks, preferably Sri Sai Baba sandalwood, which is an incredible disguise for the cannabis smell. By my calculations, we will have about 10 to 14 days of Strawberry Cheesecake before the final flush, and then 6 days after the flush, we will make the "sacrifice" of this beautiful plant. As for the Critical Jack Herer, I'm sure we will still have at least 3 more weeks minimum for bud fattening and for the maturation of pistils and terpenes. It's very clear to me that the fall season of 2022, because we got two perfect Sativa phenotypes, will take much longer than the 80 days I initially thought when I checked the strain characteristics. It’s clear that with the Indicas that were advertised and the evidence of the Sativas we ended up with, we will need more grow time. So this fall season of 2022, starting with the seedling on September 12 for both strains, will take at least one of them to develop almost as if it were a photoperiodic. If I had known, I would have planted photoperiodics, and yes, considering the time consumed this season, I am very aware that the options for spring 2023 are leaning, for now, very clearly towards planting just one photoperiodic that can guarantee a very high yield and outstanding quality. At this moment, my options lean towards experimenting with the Bay Burger strain from Delicious Seeds, with its production potential of almost 1kg/m² and its impressive THC content exceeding 27%. I have friends to whom I say that there have been times when, deep in my soul, my first and last wish would be not to cut my grows. Almost as if it were intimate to me, what I desired most was to have them beautiful forever and see their colors, their aromas... who doesn't love coming home and the first thing is to walk towards the room where the grow cabinet is... seeing how the LEDs project onto the green colors... if in my summer season I had the orange colors of the Russian Auto from FastBuds... now with the lower temperatures of late autumn, the Strawberry Cheesecake from Barney's... oh, what a job this lady has given me, huh!! How she made me get lost in her purple colors and those buds with the explosion of oranges, pinks, and amber (that we don't just need to admire with Photoshop in the pages of the banks' catalogs... yes!!! The photos I took at home have no filters and the buds look even more beautiful than in the photos from Barney's friends). Recently I was "struggling" with her, putting her in ScroG, trellises, plastic pins to do Low Stress trying to control a "lady" for which I had planned no more than a meter tall and that when I kept raising her, she almost reached a meter and a half in flowering without stopping her growth... for the first time in my life, I had to do a supercropping on top of another supercropping, making a callus the thickness of a fist on her stem because otherwise, I wouldn't have had a grow cabinet ceiling that could accommodate the stretch of her branches. They announced to me at Barney's that her genetics would show an Indica in its bushy appearance, but no... nature doesn't make mistakes in its whims and in its genetic "soup," her Sativa branches prevailed... we must calmly accept what comes our way and how not... even though in the end, the long leaves told us "Indica present"... we had a Sativa... in everything, her time to grow and develop in 13 weeks and the way the ScroG net allowed the lights to reach where they shouldn't have reached. The little Strawberry that sprouted from the jiffy on September 12, shy and delicate... today is a "lady" and her journey through the world will rise in rolls of sweet smoke and through smiles and why not, "big heads" because her "Indica" will also speak in her hybrid expression, she will be remembered as a true beauty... and yes... because if you look at the photos, she is also and very much a beauty. Putting the poetry of life aside, this week started with the flush on Sunday... running water to wash away what we have given her in these 13 weeks. Since we haven't given her too much, where we should have given just the right amount, with the flush, we quickly saw that the brown water was replaced by clear water, signaling that we cleaned her as she deserved... and I'm sure we will have smooth and aromatic smokes and not that stuff we sometimes get when we buy some herb from a friend who is more rushed and sometimes with the zeal of business (and always the bastard of money and those who do business with this and with that "philosophy" so much is given a well-done flush, a drying as the rules dictate, or first-class curing, so that the smoke is a "cult" and if a few feel like it... for me, that thing of making a living with this is not my thing... and my thing is when I smoke some with friends, we all enjoy and people tell me "wow!!! this is one of the best I've smoked in my life" and that, yes, is making a living for me... earning the pleasure of perfecting myself with each grow, with each new variable I introduce into my harvests, with each experiment that brings me knowledge and good practice, with each strain that I manage to get the best yield not only in grams but a lot in flavor and aroma. Damn... this "magic little plant" is one of the most beautiful things and that rewards you the most in life and as I tell you... my "zen" in this "grow" is not in the smoke and in the "high" it might leave me... what truly leaves me "high" is how relaxing this botany and the love, affection, and daily dedication to the "grow" is. About the "dwarf"... the Critical Jack Herer... well, despite a very incomplete genetics (and because as I've already told you, trifoliate "ruderalis" even in flowering, which suggests that Delicious Seeds will have to work a lot to stabilize this strain) it is also moving towards its end... a much smaller harvest in quantity, but due to its smell and resin in its more modest and less exuberant buds, it promises at least, a weed that "I bet my chips without limits" on the quality it will have. I will do the flush on Friday and it will be a more specific flush, as I don't intend to give it a crazy run of water and I will use the Canna Flush product, as we also need to take advantage of the substrate which is of superior quality and if the run of a lot of water tends to wash away the beneficial fungi and bacteria from the soil, with the Canna Flush we manage to clean the excess nutrients without taking away the good things we have integrated into the substrate throughout the "grow." Another thing that always contributes to having a substrate that after the flush will serve us for the future is not only the use of mycorrhizae which for me are mandatory, but also the use of enzymatic "enhancers" that have the tremendous mission of converting excess N-P-K into sugar metabolites and colloids that the plants absorb, without making the smoke aggressive as it passes through the throat. So... in the next ten days, we will finish the autumn season. We will weigh the amount, we will make the records in the log about what has gone well and less well, and we will start planning for mid/late January, the beginning of the Spring 2023 season. We already have the "food" for the next season and we will have organic quality... we will have two more TLED 26 w, these at 6500K for Growth and we will already have the complete LED setup that I have designed in my mind, which will be the central LED of 192W, and on each corner of the grow cabinet, alternating TLEDs of 26W, some for Growth and others for Flowering... And "colorín, colorado, this grow is finished..."
